AOC floats Trump impeachment over Iran strikes

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Saturday floated the prospect of impeaching President Trump for striking Iran without explicit authorization from Congress.

Why it matters: It's a shocking declaration by one of House Democrats' most high-profile progressives at a time when most in the party are instinctively rejecting the mere mention of impeachment.
  • Considerable intra-party scorn has been heaped on Reps. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) and Al Green (D-Texas) for floating votes on impeaching Trump.
  • A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Driving the news: "The President's disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers," Ocasio-Cortez posted on X.
  • "He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations," she wrote. "It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment."
  • "More soon," Ocasio-Cortez's reelection campaign wrote in a fundraising email obtained by Axios.
Zoom out: The call for impeachment puts Ocasio-Cortez on the far end of Democrats' spectrum of responses, but it reflects the broad anger with which the party has reacted to Trump's unilateral actions.
  • Trump "failed to seek congressional authorization for the use of military force and risks American entanglement in a potentially disastrous war in the Middle East," House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said in a statement.
  • He added: "Donald Trump shoulders complete and total responsibility for any adverse consequences that flow from his unilateral military action."

For fucking what? Getting involved was gay and retarded, but Presidents have been unilaterally declaring I Can't Believe It's Not War for generations using their power as Commander in Chief. After multiple years of playing nuclear chicken with Russia, NOW the Democrats are the pacifist, non-intervention party?

Shit or get off the pot. You know deep down you're only doing this for the Twitter attention.

Even money says she's on the payroll of some Middle Eastern monarch.
Let's see if AOC will be okay with the ransom of glory that came sometimes with the attention she wants.

>Implying she wouldn't be baying for Russia to be nuked into glass if Kamala had won
I do not agree with Trump entering the conflict, but her pretending she wouldn't have been any different if her party won is laughable.

Only because Iran is full of heckin' brownerooskis and not heckin ebil Russians, chud!

The President has routinely exercised the right to time-limited military strikes without congressional approval since... fuck, is it George Dubya? Is it even before that? I can't remember.

I don't like any of this, but it's cute how Democrats continue to, over and over, complain about executive power they never said a word about under Obama, and it's not as if Obama wasn't using these executive powers regularly.

Also, AOC, as a member of the far-left controlled opposition (literally) in the DNC, of course would say what she's saying. But we just had 4 years of Biden('s handlers) sucking Israeli dick too, so I don't see how we would be better off with Kopmala in charge.

Impeachment needs more consequences for invoking it if you are just invoking it whenever bad men does something you don’t like. Like as a society these idiots should be 24/7 clowned on for talking about what should be a serious and respected form of punishment for a criminal president when everyone knows it will not happen and it isn’t warranted.

Let's just call it what it is: Trump was supposed to sit on the couch and not touch anything for 4 years, instead he's putting his feet up on the coffee table like every other president and they are losing their fucking minds.

Bombing Iran was dumb, sure. But can we stop pretending it's Trump's fault for using powers congress has passed on to the executive over the last like 10 decades? If the president is a dictator or a king, it's precisely due to congress giving them those powers, and they need to own up to their own shit.

I guess when you've never had a real job in your life (other than bartender) you still have this belief that the leaders of countries sit around in a smokey room in Switzerland and say to each other "I do thee declare a war on you!"

You think smelly browns hiding in mountain laboratories are gonna wait around for their formal invite to Geneva if they don't knock off their pesky centrifuging of UF6, while you sit around and wait for your congress to bust out the seagull feather pens and parchment to draft an article of war?

No, they just like militant towelhead cock more than kike cock. The sane position would be to destroy both.

Clinton being impeached for a blowjob was probably the point where impeachment became total clown shoes bullshit. Not that Watergate wasn't but that was when the swamp creatures were still at least pretending that they were all expected to behave to some sort of standard. Every President probably has plenty of shit that you could technically try to impeach them for, but still, the Uniparty didn't fuck around and only used it as the nuclear option back then (I assume it would've looked bad to just have Nixon get domed so soon after Kennedy). Hell even now some people still act like Watergate is the worst thing a President has ever done, even after how bad Dubya stepped in it. But even there it is telling that the media has quietly managed to somewhat rehabilitate Bush (or are at least neutral when they do bring him up) but still goes hard on emphasizing what a giant scumbag Nixon was and shitting all over any revisionism where he is concerned.

Trump is just as radioactive as Nixon, if not more, but plays ball in a few key areas well enough and new media has allowed him to retain a level of popularity that the R side are mostly willing to hold their nose and tolerate him. We saw what a bunch of fucking snakes they are during the second attempt to set him up on Jan 6, but like the first impeachment attempt, it ended up being a wet fart compared to what they did to Nixon. The real question is if the swamp creatures are being hit by the competency crisis or if the level of retardation has remained more or less the same and it's just way harder to hide or downplay it than it was in 1968.

Anyway, I forgot my point but AOC is a retard performing for the few clapping seals who apparently already forgot about the two bogus impeachments, tanking the economy with the Covid circus, kicking up race riots, framing him for treason, a rigged federal election, millions of dollars in vexatious civil suits, and dozens of trumped-up charges (if that wasn't a term before, it would certainly have become one)... oh yeah, and the two failed attempts to put a bullet in his fuckin head. If the bitch wants to continue embarrassing herself, then by all means, my only issue is that the taxpayers are paying her a salary to do it.

I find it laughable that she's "fighting the oligarchy" and people are actually buying it.

How the fuck she funded to be so nationally popular? Unicorn farts and shards of rainbows?

It's to keep people with the attention spans of goldfish to be perpetually outraged.

Obama bombed brown people, not unlike other (white) Presidents that came before him. People who have at least two brain cells to rub together know this, but this is AOC: she could rub her one brain cell with Bernie's and they'd still come out profoundly retarded.

Why would anyone do that? Remember, Obama had his own "Muslim ban" which Trump extended, but Trump took heat for it. Obama and Hillary Clinton were against illegal immigration, too, but Trump gets heat for that also. The left enjoys assigning "bad faith" to any action that could otherwise be seen as good because they can't ever possibly admit that Trump and their favorite Democrats re fundamentally the same.
