I'm not going to get into slapfights with individual users but the attitude of "noooo we can't bomb a country that has hated us for decades, sponsored terrorists that have killed Americans, and openly wants to kill us and usher in global Sharia law because Israel is so much worse" rubs the wrong way.

I 100% understand the argument against getting into a land war in Asia. You will see my tune change if we send regular troops to Iran and I will eat a heaping helping of crow if that happens. However, right now, everyone is sperging about a major war and Israel just because the US bombed three targets - all three being Iranian nuclear sites. It's a risky move, but the idea here is that Iran is totally cornered and does not have the ability to fight a war at the moment. It has zero regional allies, Qatar is literally blockaded right now by every Arab state, and its only option is face down its regional neighbors with US support or stop being assholes. Saudi, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt are all openly sick of Iran's shit.

I agree with all of this except the notion that people's tolerance to islam has increased. i agree with you like 90%. i don't think removing gaddhafi was a good move at all.
the point i disagree with is acting like this is some kind of gotcha that explains the migration crisis or absolves euro leaders of the responsibility for their own borders. if gaddhafi had stayed in power, it would still be happening, just through other routes. best case scenario is that it would have been a bit slower.
and of course there is no guarantee that gaddhafi would have remained in power indefinitely. dude was getting old. maybe there would have been a successful transition of power after him, or maybe he would have gone the way of ben ali in tunisia or mubarak in egypt, or maybe he would have just seen erdogan successfully blackmailing the EU with the threat of rapefugees and decided to do the same, nobody can say for sure.
what happens or doesn't happen outside our countries is not within our control, relying on foreign states to protect our interests for us is a bad idea. it is the responsibility of our own leaders to do that, and trying to absolve them of blame by bitching about american wars, french interventions or israeli settlements is stupid and pointless.
