I'd say it's more likely to do with the idea of priding in ones identity, same logic as anyone putting their country's flag up. They want people to know they're from that country and take pride in it. But with being trans it's a bit counter-intuitive, since you probably wouldn't want people to know you're trans if you pass..unless you don't pass then it's a perfect way to force people to recognise the fact that you are trying to identify with this group of people otherwise you're a bigot, they clearly have a trans flag behind them but you're not calling them a she! I legitimately think so many trans people online put a flag up behind them because otherwise you'd have zero idea that they were trans and people could legitimately pass off misgendering them as ignorance even when it's not. I think they also do it because they need people in their own community to actually have something easy to quickly identify, because they're so horrendous at passing that most people in their own community can't be sure if they're trans, non-binary, gender-non-conformative or whatever other nonsense without an obvious flag.

Yeah, it's such a gross misunderstanding of what PCOS actually is. And PCOS is actually a lot more common than you'd think. I have it, and I do have to shave my face every now and then - but even during times where I've gone a long while without it - I'm still incapable of growing a FULL BEARD OR MUSTACHE. Worst I've ever had is like a very slight mustache, but it still tends to only be noticeable up close or in certain lighting. It's such a small amount of facial hair I get that it's not a problem to remove when I see myself in the mirror.
