Honestly I think that anyone that feels like "trump handed me a "fell for it again award" fooled themselves more than trump ever did.
Trumps first term showed us plenty that his non-interventionism was more about not getting into stupid ground invasions or protracted war shit than anything else. Random strikes to accomplish goals were always still on the table. This is that, just like when we killed that Iranian general in 2020, just like when we bombed that Syrian airstrip. He's always postured himself as "we're not going to occupy and nation build, but we're not going to just sit back and wag our finger, if you fuck around we'll still make you find out"
The people that have been acting like this is somehow new from him now with Iran are either conservatives that just weren't paying attention somehow, or libs who are arguing in bad faith and for some reason now want to argue "ohhhhh you said no forever wars so you were supposed to just watch Iran build nukes you liar!"
And honestly that's exactly what I voted for with him, I don't want an Iraq or and Afghanistan or a Libya, but I don't want for that to be that we just sit back like cucks and watch a country like Iran nuclearize
