More of a vent, but I was talking to this liberal chick about ICE and immigration and she was telling me that "only those (illegals) who commit crimes should be deported." To which my reply was, "you do know that being here illegal is still a crime right? For example when cubans come here they're put on probation for a year because they technically broke the law" and suddenly it becomes "violent crime". These people just keep moving the goal posts. What's even crazier is that her parents are immigrants who came here legally from a country it's hard to immigrate from.
The disconnect is massive. Holy hell. Like I dislike the current system (I think the whole system is outdated and needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt for the modern era because we are still using a bill from the Johnson administration as the foundation, as I think that will stop system abuse) but these people cannot understand what is right often requires cold calculations to be done.
Oh and no she doesn't talk to average people.
