I kind of get it.... but wouldn't it be unreasonable for him to "chicken out" when the countries call him and are willing to negotiate?In fact, wasn't that the entire point of the "liberation" day tariffs?

No if trump says something at the start he means it 100% unironically, even though he's been explicit elsewhere about this being a negotiation tactic, and if he negotiates that's being a loser and chickening out and pretending otherwise is pure cope. Checkmate, magats.

The ICE guys seem to be doing a lot of the "jump out of a van in a ski mask" style of grabbing criminals. It's true that there's risk in doing that, but there's always risk in apprehending criminals; the reason they use this technique is actually to minimize it by gaining the element of surprise when they expect the criminal to be armed or to try and run. Colbert is just concern trolling.
