It is possible for species with different chromosomes numbers to have offspring. Horses have 64 chromosomes and donkeys 62 (or the other way around, I can’t remember offhand) and they can breed to create mules/hinnies. The offspring of such pairings are almost always sterile themselves.
Something very interesting about this is that it does make a difference which sex each parent species are. A mule is produced by a male donkey with a mare pairing and a hinny is the other way around and they’re quite different in size and temperament. Very occasionally mules can actually breed.
Other species crosses the effect can be so extreme depending on which species the mother/father is that one combination survives and the other never even makes it past the embryo stage. Which begs the question …
There’s no known and documented/proven offspring of any chimp human pairing. I wonder if only a male chimp/female human offspring might be viable and most wild cases are human males raping female chimps? Although why anyone would I have no idea, even a small female chimp is capable of ripping you to shreds.

Well humans have 46 chromosomes and chimps have 48, and we're pretty closely related (in fact it's thought that several archaic human species were direct crosses with chimpanzees). There have been several historical claims of women getting impregnated by apes, but none of men impregnating apes. There are also many legends and myths of human/monkey species throughout the world. In the 70's there was a Soviet madlad named Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov who tried to impregnate 3 chimps but it didn't work (although hybrid breeding attempts usually have a low success rate even if compatible, so 3 direct attempts isn't actually proof to the contrary). He was stopped before he could conduct his experiment with a male chimp/female human (because the male chimp died not because it was an afront to god, lmao). Apparently China succeeded in impregnating a chimp with human sperm but it died from neglect at 3 months pregnant because of the cultural revolution, but that's according to a Chinaman so take that however you want. If you want my opinion, it's probably possible to interbreed humans and chimps on some level... but I really don't want to think about that!

Sheep and Goats have different chromie homies yet can produce a fertile offspring (fertile with one of the parent species since nobody has tried to breed hybrids together). The chance is something like 0.1% but there are enough sheep and goats to have a handful of cases.

Buying animals from an animal farm isn't "rescuing", it's just business. If you're buying an animal from an abusive situation, congrats, you're financially encouraging the abuse. The people who do this are trying to sound sanctimonious for buying a pet.

They're BUYING the animals they're supposedly "rescuing" from fur farmers, usually at a price that provides the farmers with a healthy profit. Yeah I do not understand these people's definition of "rescue" at all. If I adopt an old dog from a shelter that's there because the owner died or was abusive, or take in a cat off the street that's a stray, that's a rescue. I'm "rescuing" the animal from being without a home and owner. if I buy a dog from a breeder that's just me purchasing an animal, it wasn't on the street or stuck in a pound. These people treat it like it's different just cause the animals are exotic.
