Twitch was on a decline for quite a while before this, but this really opened a can of worms that couldn't be put back. It was peak hypocrisy from Twitch and the streamers who called for it to be banned, standing on their pedestal of morality whilst the entire of Twitch was; infested with scam casinos (and still is), infested with softcore porn and thots using it as a funnel to direct kids to their hardcore porn (and still is), infested with viewbotters and people gaming the system (and still is), and just the general decline of the user experience with more ads and shitty feature updates no one wants. Meanwhile, Kick has such fuck you money that Amazon is probably sitting wondering why they even keep Twitch around losing money year on year, having to deal with the constant controversies, when Kick are probably paying them millions in weekly/monthly AWS IVS fees and will continue to do so indefinitely for as long as Kick exists.
My prediction is that in the next few years (or possibly sooner) we are going to see Amazon liquidate Twitch completely, and Kick and Youtube are probably going to become the main sites. Twitch has already been on life support since the purchase, the only thing Amazon ever cared about in that acquisition was IVS and the tech Twitch was built on so they could use it for Prime Video. The fact they kept Twitch around at all after that is nothing short of a miracle since it all it does it lose money. I think many big streamers who are exclusive to Twitch take it for granted and are in for an extremely rude awakening once the penny drops.
