Yeah, I live in a student city and I see a lot of young women take bathroom selfies in bars and cafés, however usually in a group or together, not alone. I am sure one of my limbs is in the background of several photos, at least. Some places here even 'fun up' the bathroom to encourage photos or leaving messages. The difference is in intent: these girls take pictures together because they are out and often drunk, they're not doing it to intimidate others or to get off sexually. Anyone caught in the background is there only accidently, because they really don't want strangers in the picture. Also, obviously, there are no kids around when they're doing this. It never even struck me as odd until troons started perverting it.
