Silent Hill

What I am looking forward to in the SH1 remake is hopefully them keeping the weird magic stuff and occult stuff. Maybe expanding on it with more interiors.

Masahiro Ito also hopefully coming back for monster designs since he hinted at a 3 remake with the twin closer.

Maybe even implementing the cut monsters like the butterfly in an inevitable new bloated addition sidequest and stuff since Alessa had fascination with insects.

And of course redefining what people think about SILENT HILL as a series if they keep it like 2 where it's (mostly) faithful but bloated. If anything I hope they keep the insane stuff that made 1 special visuals-wise. And hoping the otherworld is like the original where there's emptied grungy bottles of white claudia everywhere.

The alchemical and occult symbolism will almost certainly get butchered by people whose understanding of the subject comes solely from Hollywood schlock.

I'm not saying it was good. Christophe Gaines's reasons for replacing Harry were retarded (and then the studio told him to put in a male character anyway!) and PH being there says some fucked up things about Alessa. Never mind what they did to Dahlia.

I know that the occult had a big resurgence in Japan around the 80's/90's so they may have gotten it all from magazines.
...not that I want to dismiss them. I kinda want to read a bunch of 80's/90's Japanese occult magazines.

That's true, I remember hearing about one particularly popular Japanese book on stuff like Western occultism and Jungian psychology that came out around that time, and probably was used as a resource on a bunch of other stuff like Xenogears and Evangelion. I can't remember the title, but I could not find any English translations when I looked.

That's a good thing. Why would you want them to touch that amazing work and disgrace it further? They don't deserve to even think about Born From A Wish after what the HD collection's new horrible voices did to it. It's Team Silent at their most SILENT HILL and SH2 at it's most David Lynch despite what fags rabble on about the main story.

Ernest Baldwin was originally voiced by the guy who voiced the Resident Evil 1 and 4 "RESIDENT EVIIIL... 4" intros which made it almost a nod to RE and a great and odd performance. Ward E. Sexton.
