The best we can hope for is SKG's success in the EU to have ripple effects here for us.
I doubt devs and publishers would geo-block sites from NA visitors where they'd host the theoretical data and documentation to keep games running past their EoL.
Even if they did, people would probably just share them around anyway.

You know, I had my suspicions of this dude ever since I saw his video talking about how ban waves are acutally "really smart" despite the fact that they self-evidently never fucking work and the damage caused by a bot gathering a years worth of resources in 6 months can't be undone with a single ban wave.

I guess protecting your own job security is more important.
All it accomplished was the biggest bot farms running multiple versions of their bots concurrently, and being safe in the fact that if one version got banned they'd already have another ready to go to replace them while the rest of the bots were still active. And that's on top of allowing the bot farmers to confirm any suspicions they might have about how the detection is even working due to the variations in versions they run concurrently. There's been interviews with people running these things in the past few years that have covered this shit.

And yeah, banning a handful of bots every 3-6 months doesn't undo all of the damage done by those bots in the first place, that get ignored when reported because of lazy fucks like Mald who didn't want to actively deal with the problem.

Sites are protected by IP NIIST laws from hosting software, and even if copyright laws in the user's jurisdiction disallowed that, the web server's location could be hosted in the EU, where the content is protected within that jurisdiction. A lot of ROM sites do this.

Planned obsolescence is a completely normal business model for software. In fact software as a whole would not be a viable business plan without some form or another of artificial scarcity (I notice none of you are campaigning to make piracy legal)
That's funny, I seem to be perfectly capable of using software designed in the 90's and 2000's, barring some extreme hardware conflicts with certain games, and even then there's usually some kind of fan work-around for those problems. It's almost as if this wasn't a problem until relatively recently, when software devs realized they can make you pay for a product, then brick it later on in order to make you pay for the next one.

Older software was never "planned" to be obsolete. It simply became that way because of the natural progression of hardware. If you honestly think planned obsolescence for software should be the norm, then you're the dumbest gorilla niggercattle I've ever seen in my life.

Exactly. The early 90s Bladerunner game was on a floppy disc (I still have it and the box). Emulation has preserved that game to still be playable today, if users can't be fucked buying a FDD (fun fact: a lot of military hardware still uses floppy drives - especially aircraft).

If that game were released today, it would be subject to the publisher's overreaching and exploitative EULA, especially if it were released on an online platform.

Most live service games are live because they integrate launchers with sign in functions (like the Epic games launcher, Creative Assembly's games launcher, Ubisoft's, Rock Star's...), not because they necessarily offer live services which the games' logic depends on to run. It's fucked.

Before I saw the date I thought he was actively trying to bait the guy into agreeing with his retarded take on Stop Killing Games because he keeps pressing him on the idea if they couldn't support it. The dev was smart enough not to be a retard like Maldy and said the obvious, allow people to make private servers if you're not going to support it yourself.

I'll download them but I can't clip them until this weekend most likely. Regardless, I'm holding onto all Mald media I download indefinitely in case it's needed later.

I got you.

<place holder for the longer video>

Edit: the "longer video" is over eleven hours long. Stay frosty.

Edit 2: Nah fuck that noise I'm not compressing shit that long @Aidan you're my only hope.

I don't see it happening. He is incredibly insecure and the machismo is his cover. That's the crux of the fake deep voice and insisting on being called Thor.

I mean with all his goofy ass voice manipulation bullshit, and his need to shot-call in any MMO guild he winds up in, he's giving off the same smokescreen energy as that republicunt senator who vilified the gay community and then get caught sucking cocks in bathrooms.

On the other hand, I've known people like maldfaygius who are legitimately straight, just broken little boys inside who try to emulate what they think a "real man" is supposed to act like.

He's a real enigma that one, and yes I hope he fucking dies soon.

Reminder that all of this is promoted by grown men who could've had a family and a stable business instead. So much fuss over a bunch of bingbingwahoos. Modern games are all Skinner's Box bullshit anyways. I'd love to see all of them killed if it means bringing back normal men with tangible goals in their lives. You will have to grow up and face your worthlessness sooner or later, y'all.
And here you are wasting your time posting on a site dedicated to pointing and laughing at retards online instead of doing what you just preached

I've noticed that alot of people shitting up this thread are April join dates aka 4chan rapefugees and old accounts with low post counts, all of a sudden being active in this thread.
Not all of them are bad, see the user above you for example.
You think it'd be possible to ban users that joined from April of this year from posting in specific threads?
See above. We have even oldfaggots shitting up the thread
What's y'all's over/under on maldy trooning out?
He already looks like a tranny, so it's not out of the question entirely

I was one of Jason's original haters explaining why from a game design perspective, heartbound is complete and other dog water I also hate the people who make wolf light TTR pgs.
And it's in a special soy spot because the person who messed up my love of that, my fashion with some furry. freak who later turned out to be a zooophile, which Jason is probably going to get out of it as well. He was also a pedo.

Jason is everything wrong with game design. in video games and Rpgs.
He's a furry He's a napper, baby. and he has no idea what he's talking about and he thinks he's more intelligent than he actually is.

I fucking hate culture war grifter faggots so much. When they're actually put to face with something real they always cuck out. Fucking faggot. Yes, rate me MATI I don't give a fuck
Thought it was weird how he shit on him but also tried to defend him at the same time. Yeah. Another fence-rider it seems.
