No this has always been a thing, there is even a math formula going back since at least the mid 90s of half your age + 7. Ellie just completed her Junior year in highschool a few weeks ago, the guy just wants a naive compliant fuck toy not a relationship on equal terms with a woman. This mindset has been growing since Gen-X were kids when the divorce rate and single motherhood started growing at an insane rate. I think age gap shit is dumb and so is the 'youre not developed until youre 25' but I do think if youre in your 30s that you should probably follow the 1/2 age + 7 thing until shes 24/25 depending on how you met. Also Ellie seems out of her depth on this compared to Marky or Claire.
