Videogames have gone the way of movies where there are no cool movies anymore and it's 99% slop. Where is my grand-strategy Iliad/Odyssey game? Where is my CSGO that isn't full of bots or hackers? Where is my World of Warcraft that isn't woketarded? Nowhere to be seen.

Let me throw my hat into this:

The analogy doesn't work, it's the same game. But emulated without hardware flaws. Aka: Run-ahead frames to deal with input lags, resolution, overclocking, choice of your controller, and more.

I can play a gamecube game at 120hz, 4K resolution, on keyboard, with an analog controller or not if I ever decide to, without slowdown, and I can even mod the game too. What do I get from playing the game on the original hardware? The memory card can be emulated too, and your memories are forever in your head.

If you’re able to do one or the other, weigh out the pros/cons and make a decision for yourself.

Example: again, I want to play some Ratchet & Clank but I yet to have the hardware to do so. I could get a PS3, but I would want the console that would be compatible for PS2 games for the ultimate PS nostalgia experience. But, fat PS3s are prone to failure and those models aren’t cheap to buy secondhand or fix.

You’re probably thinking, just get a high end PC and emulate the games. Well, a PC would be a long term investment for other games. But, PS3 emulation isn’t there AFAIK compared to GCN emulation. So, I would need to make a judgment call.

Well if we are going to bring logic and bad faith arguments into an opinion thread than sure you are correct. Playing video games is a waste of time and everyone should do more productive activities and it was not as if the point was for people to create their own personal goals.

The read part was totally serious though force the population to admit basic biological facts by bringing male and female back to games. Use the seething generated by a simple fact as marketing.

Bioshock Infinite was a solid game, I thought Columbia was pretty based almost to the point where it felt like you were playing as a bad guy, and the Vox Populi were socialist retards who were mad they were being ruled over by well-dressed White People, other than kidnapping a child from an alternate dimension and the somewhat heterodox interpretation of Christianity the society was overall moral and functional, Comstock is arguably a sympathetic villain in terms of seeing the issues with the United States

somewhat agree with this, although there is for sure bad games (mostly in the multiplayer side of things) that come out its overblown if theres some person that thinks "Video Games Aren't Fun Anymore" then its a redflag that they are on YouTube more then actually playing games, that or they only play CoDslop and wonder why they are bored

Victory Heat Rally is great if you want a racing game
Tunic is good too though not as niche as some of these other ones

This is why I said "and"! Even if someone were to complain about modern games, there is enough old games not to care about their own complain, even if their complain makes no sense since there is a lot of good modern games too.

There is more bad games today than in the past simply because there is more games.

hard to know without specific genres you enjoy among other things, but ill give you a list of shit ive recently played or are currently

Red Dead Redemption II (Game of the fucking decade and a good story, and does the Open World stuff better then any other game, its the only reason I think GTA 6 has a chance at being good)
Cyberpunk 2077 (the only CDPR game ive enjoyed, it has its issues but the story missions are pretty fun and getting gear and upgrading your character is pretty enjoyable too)
Fallout 4 (Skyrim but post-apocalyptic with guns, enough said)
Far Cry 6 (its Ubislop and woke but if you can get over that then its fun otherwise though 5 was better)

Never heard of any of these other than Tunic, not really into a lot of Indie games but I guess all the shovelware that’s posted onto Steam left a bad taste in my mouth.
