This means children of American citizens would always have American citizenship no matter where they're born, but children of non-citizens who happen to be born on American soil would have to go through the process of obtaining citizenship.

As a lesbian, I never really understood why Civil Unions specifically had to be changed to "Marriage". To me, marriage seems more like a religious concept, and a civil union (with all the legal benefits of a marriage) is no different. Forcing the state to define "Gay Marriage" as a thing, feels like the state interfering with religion, if that makes any sense?
There is a sweet spot age range that falls between mid Gen-X to mid Millennial where most people retain both the skill to figure things out on their own while being technologically literate and current enough to apply it to today's systems.
