The computer may be the single most useful and powerful thing ever invented and every retard-friendly feature you accept gives that power away. Every ad you sit through instead of blocking it, every video you want to keep that the site tries to prevent you from downloading, every bit of privacy you give away without a vpn, every file you store on someone else’s server—often paying for the privilege. Just learn a single command line program instead of relying on whatever shitty tool you can dig up on the App Store and you will see what you are missing. Every user-friendly feature is there to make you forget you own a very powerful machine and you don’t have to cede that control to anyone else.

As a lesbian, I never really understood why Civil Unions specifically had to be changed to "Marriage". To me, marriage seems more like a religious concept, and a civil union (with all the legal benefits of a marriage) is no different. Forcing the state to define "Gay Marriage" as a thing, feels like the state interfering with religion, if that makes any sense?

CS Lewis made this point in the 50s, that what the world was calling "marriage" was becoming so different from marriage in the traditional religious sense that a making a clear distinction would be better for everybody.
