To be somewhat fair, automation isn't cheap. Machines need repairs and advanced machines are expensive to fix. Farmers in bumfuck nowhere have to fix these things themselves or hire people to do it, which is more expensive and time-consuming than hiring illegals to do cheap manual labor.

What I find amusing is all the liberals who chant about the importance of farms and the importance of fair wages, but abandon these notions when it comes to illegal immigration. You would think they'd talk about expanding farm infrastructure and bailing out farms, but no. They want to keep slave labor.

By the way, there are a HUGE amount of new agritech and agriservices companies trying to address these issues and they could use the free advertisements... but that means also getting rid of the cheap nannies, the cheap maids, and the notion of a racial voting bloc.

Even further down this wacky rabbit hole, Hispanics and immigrants are polling with MAGA. I was saying for years that mass importing Catholics and making their entire platform about progressive social issues would bite Democrats in the ass and I was right.
When it comes to agriculture leftists are pure romanticists who think mechanisation is evil and every farm should look like it came from a Ghibli movie. Most are completely ignorant of how much of a science agriculture is, even before mechanisation, hence why commies cause so many famines.

As for why spics vote MAGA, it makes sense from a self-interest POV. Illegal spics have the same labour niche as legal spics but can avoid most of the expenses of living under a managerial state (i.e. mandatory insurance, taxes &c.) so no demographic gets hit harder by illegal labour competition. At least Whitey can compete on an unspoken assumption of integrity.

Yes. But we can just dig up more uranium. How is thorium cheaper than digging up uranium, slightly enriching it, then dealing with the waste either by turning it into weapons or storage?
Thorium is more common than uranium, is safer to mine, and we already have massive stockpiles of the shit just sitting around (not refined). All that has to be is melt down the shit that contains it so you get only thorium and expose it to plutonium so it picks up an extra neutron and turns from T-232 into T-233 and then through beta decay becomes U-233 which is very fissile.
Isn't thorium a common waste material from uranium mining? It's not necessarily an either/or.

ETA: Bill Moyers is dead, time to tramp the dirt down.

Huge poultry farms use drones to help monitor their flocks, too.
Imagine a modern remake of Chicken Run, but it is a metaphor for technological police states instead of the holocaust.

Managed properly with the right soil? It could feed a couple and Mabye a small child. It’s the idea that type of farm is going to feed hundreds of people that’s the delusion.
And that is just growing the required amount to feed the farmers family. There is also the issue of food preservation because that harvest will do you no good of it rots away over the next few months. Finally you need to know how to prepare the food, cooking is a lost art among younger generations and there is no way they can prepare meals efficiently in order to not waste their ingredients.

It's rather amazing that some of the biggest public transit "advocates" in the United States are also the same politicians who often do little about the homeless and crime problem associated with them.
I think a lot of homeless advocates don't understand that the minorities they advocate for are the reason things are so shit. A lot of them are right about transit we need it for tourism and alternate routes but trains need security on them.
Cameras aren't enough you need actual people to discourage bad actors.

Yes, electrical grids have to rely upon a steady source of power because that's what they are built around. To be honest I don't even think wind and solar should even be a part of the larger electrical grid due to the instabilities and complexities they add that are totally unnecessary like for instance, the wind suddenly stops or clouds come in and now you need to increase the power output from gas or coal power plants to compensate asap.
Compare this with subsidizing the nuclear industry and allowing and equipping more nuclear reactors to harvest tritium for fusion energy research purposes.
Nuclear gets minus marks for the scariness of radiation but a lot of plus points for efficiency.
Solar is obviously hard to irradiate the surrounding countryside with but you're out of luck on a cloudy day.

I don't worry too much about "you need to increase the power output from gas or coal power plants", that's pretty much their job. Don't forget about things like spot power bills, so businesses that wish can use electricity when it is at its most plentiful for more cost savings.

There's people taking advantage of this type of arbitrage right now -- I believe there is a facility in CA that is experimenting with flywheels hooked up to generators to take care of those surges and peak power demand times throughout the day.

I think the best grid will use a combination of power: wind, solar, hydro, and nuclear. A diverse grid is a resilient one. Nuclear does get a bad rap due to Chernobyl and Fukushima, but there are newer reactors that have a far higher safety profile and new designs are proposed all the time. TBH I'd probably rather live in a town with a modern nuclear reactor vs. a coal or oil power plant.

To preface this I do not support Israel with that being said, why the fuck would Israel psosion flour bags with pills and not crush them up? Like why and more importantly how? God a fucking hope those reports about a Gaza cease-fire are true so it means an and to stuff like this for at least a while

Yes I'm SURE that this isn't someone smuggling it's clearly DA JOOOOOOOZ. Not someone trying to smuggle a narcotic via an unassuming item and it getting mixed up. OR this person just putting some flour on their hand for a sensationalist picture.

Joe Biden seemed to agree with this sentiment when he was in the Oval Office.

For anyone curious, Obama only appointed 26.
This kind of explains why KBJ dissented: had she agreed with the rest of the court, she'd have to deal with 40 other niggers screaming at her about undermining them. She wants her fellow SISSTUHS to be relevant.
This is all I think of when I read the endless solar v. nuclear talk.

It was nice knowing you, buddy.
