I don't want to turn this thread into a covid discussion, but I want to point out how wrong and disingenuous Ellen is being about the topic. No, no one was sent to "camps" over not getting the vaccine, but people had their jobs held hostage. You either got the shot or got fired. That's just one aspect, that's not going into how businesses wouldn't allow you inside without a mask and/or proof of vaccination, and how literal doctors and hospitals would refuse to provide medical care if you refused to get the vaccine.
She's repeating the nonsense about innocent people being sent to El Salvador again. Truly reddit brained. I have yet to hear of one story where some poor innocent person was sent there. So far it's all been criminals and gang members. If there were a real, legitimate innocent person sent there, the media would have jumped on it and screamed about it non-stop. Instead, they keep having to use deceptive journalism to downplay how bad these gang members, drug traffickers, and murderers are. Notice how Ellen herself can't even point to one innocent person that has been sent there.

Ellen's political views boil down to her aggressively misunderstanding and minimizing the opposing argument, it's very childish. How can you argue against someone who takes everything you say, simplifies it, rewords it, and argues against that instead of what was actually said? It's an immediate red flag that someone isn't actually into politics and instead enjoys the sensationalism. If I were going to take a guess, it's about what happens when you have a midlife crisis and decide to try to become popular on Reddit (and to her credit, she more or less succeeded). She liked doing art before, but nobody cared or knew about it, but little webcomics are digestible and easy to spread around and hit the front page of Reddit. The political sentiment of Reddit is perhaps best described as histrionic-ADHD-goldfish-brained screeching about [Republicans bad] and forgetting that internet athiesm hasn't been popular in like 15 years. Everything is a fascist far-right lolocaust driven by those Christian nationalists.
Also to her, making stupid winemom comics about Drumpfler is speaking truth to power, and her part to RESIST. Also also, yeah she might be Canadian, but Trump has been shitposting about making them the 51st state, so it's her NATIONAL DUTY to RESIST.
