Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

Whatever Sauber did to their cars it seems to be working. also kinda funny how Merc dominated Canada and is now in nowhere's land even far behind the Ferrari. And for everyone's sanity keep of from F1 twitter (well X) because the next race is Silverstone and you can bet Hamilton's fancult will shit up X to the max. Like "hamilton will win his 106 in Silversone, let's manifest it" to "Fuck Ferrari for breaking Hamilton's streak at Silverstone"

I really hope we get the "Max to Merc, Russell to the job center" news some time. It will send British "fans" and "pundits" into strokes.

Ever since the rumours started and that merc isn't in a hurry to extend Russell they've been frothing at the mouth about how he's so much better than Max and why would they do it.

Russell outclassed Lattifi and Sargeant. He then did marginally better than the designated number 2 at merc who was hired because they didn't want a team mater challenging hambone again like 2016. Then he just about kept pace with a way past it hambone in a shithosue car. Now he's just about staying ahead of a rookie. Plus the usual "he's a Brit so the media need to tongue bathe him constantly". Not overly amazing or special.

Fun fact Merc paid for Max's early career but Red Bull stole him by offering a path right into an F1 seat while Merc had Hambone and Rossberg on long term contracts so couldn't offer the same. That's apparently the reason merc went 1 year only extensions from then on out, so they wouldn't lose out again.

So I'm sure Merc would love to get him back, if the rumours about their engine programme being miles ahead and RBR are going backwards then I could see Max seeing going. It would be a no brainer to dump Russell out of that car to either some shitty customer team or FE and sign Max up.

i dont want to see max working with that flaming faggot toto or hear crofty and brundle cumming in their briefs over muh silver arrows. weve seen how the merc leadership behaves when theyre the dominant team, that level of homosexuality is really hard to stomach for me when im trying to watch cars go in circles very fast
dont forget we have merc in particular to thank for these GAY ASS fucking engines that are about to get even worse from next year onward

Bortoleto shined today, hopefully that will shut up people who demanded him to be Ayrton senna in his first rookie season in a fucking sauber for a while.

Seems every Mercedes team but Aston Martin got fucked, it's weird, do they all share the brakes?

Norris seems to finally get his shit together.

Max seemed relieved on the post interviews he isn't forced to fight the championship anymore in a car that is objectively worse than their junior team one.

I think max will wait out in 2026 and go to Aston Martin if he can finish in the top 3 at the end, but if he keeps losing to Russel, that will trigger him.

He should go to Aston Martin IMHO, Honda loves him, the team is entirely rebuilt with former redbull staff like newey, he'd going to get paid more and have more control over there than Mercedes, if stroll remains, he's inoffensive and he's used to being in a one driver team anyway.

If Stroll gets kicked and Alonso or maybe even a guy like hulkenberg gets in the second seat, he's got a 2nd Perez who can block and score reliable points for him and the team, hopefully the stroll family gets less and less control of that team with all that Saudi blood money coming in.

I suspect alot of that newfound success is the injection of Audi engineers and personnel getting a warm up for the official start next season. If I was one of the top 4 teams I'd have cause be worried. Enduro for sure isnt F1, but the way they conducted themselves when they got serious about Le Mans/WEC should speak for itself.

The staff that did the group C Peugeot domination were headhunted by Ferrari in the early 90s to unleash the 1999-2007 absolute Ferrari domination.

Now if Ferrari only had an successful endurance championship team they could poach talent from....
But I'll guess firing and getting a new team principal for the 20th time will do.

@AN/ALR56 did you just compare Alonso to Perez? Are you mental lol

It seems the boss of Ferrari's Endurance Team isn't willing to lead the F1 team. That is the funniest part, nobody wants to touch this shit show.

Funny enough, Binotto seems to be way happier at Sauber now that he is commanding the technical Teams again while Wheatly (he came from Red Bull) takes the reign of the Team on the track. Ferrari should have kept Binotto to had the factory again while Vasseur runs the Team on the command stand. I mean just think of the Schumacher era: you had Todt running the team while Byrne and Brawn ran the factory

Thankfully, the screwderia promptly forgot everything they learned during that era and went right back to their 80s and 90's stagnation ways.

Tinfoil time!

IMO, Max has given up. Not on racing itself, but in racing for RB.
His body language spoke volumes yesterday after Kimi took him out like a noob:
He didn't show much emotion like he used to....he calmly got out of the car, calmly took off his helmet, and calmly spoke to Kimi as they walked away from their wrecked cars. No drama, no anger, no theatrics.
Who are you and what have you done with Max?

Even the shots of him walking back to the paddock room showed him just calm...like he just "shut down".

RB has done nothing but fuck him all season, first obviously changing the car in such a way that it is a detriment more than an improvement, and then saddling him with Stroll in a tiny Japanese body as his teammate. Hard to run defense when you are back in the bottom 5 every fucking time.

Merc is probably looking irresistible right about now.

My 2 cents...

well this incident pretty much singlehandedly eliminated him from the race for wdc this season so why make a scene for no reason? he did get mad on team radio when he didnt know who had hit him yet but imo softened up a bit when he noticed it was kimi.
i also think this is why:
Max seemed relieved on the post interviews he isn't forced to fight the championship anymore in a car that is objectively worse than their junior team one.
the car is dogshit and even max complains about it a lot. he can put in great laps with it but it just doesnt have the sustained performance to compete with mclaren without relying on miracles to happen. too much tire deg and problems cornering. i dont think anythings wrong with max, hes just a bit more mature than he was 10 years ago and so he kept it bottled in because right now theres no way for him to transmute rage into a victory.

I'm definitely expecting Max to try and make the jump to a new team ready for the new regs (even though he's still on contract). I'm pretty certain he could ring any TP and tell them he's driving for them next season. I still expect it will be Merc due to his prior links to the team and Toto along with the fairly clear picture who'll be coming out on top of the new rules.
