So... Some asshole online posted that sodium aluminosilicate in salt everywhere leads to Alzheimer's.




Every now and then I get forgetful and notice it occasionally runs in the family... We tend to like salty shit and Ive starting to put two and two together. Especially considering how much the food industry is full of shit.

-that said, the European Food Safety Admin "concluded that the intake of aluminum through food with a proper level is not a risk to develop Alzheimer’s disease," but does it take into account cumulative exposures like deodorant? this is the same reason why i stopped using fluoride toothpaste since over here in the States we get it in the water, too (don't read this and replace fluoride with something dumb like charcoal, use nano hydroxyapatite and at effective levels)

Pretty much. The "amyloid hypothesis" has been around for decades now and the primary recipient for research funding, but it hasn't exactly made any practical progress outside of faked data every few years. It seems nobody knows (and can demonstrate) how the disease develops and affects the brain yet, so even if it was certain it had to do with it as the main cause, working on prevention measures would still be difficult. Fraud has been a big problem with it now, enough that the whole "amyloid mafia" has caught popular attention.. other than having an healthy lifestyle and especially taking care of your teeth (as that seems to be a the second best guess in the very long list of causes that may not be singular, and many of them from infections) not much one can do.
