AI Art Seething General

Look man, if you have insane delusions and kill yourself over the computer it was going to be something AI or no. That’s called ‘mental illness’, some people are just sick and then shit happens because they didn’t get the necessary interventions and treatment.
My peepaw done jump off the falls when he saw a chicken who beated a man at tiktak toe

The fact we pay people to act on a camera to produce fiction on video to entertain us is a testament to the fact we won't ever let AI take over in a meaningful way. The human aspect is what makes something worth consuming in terms of leisure or creative fuel. Work emails? Sure. Movies? If nobody put in the hours to make it, why put in the hours to watch it?

Let's be real: The AI people talk about is fake porn and futanari hentai mpreg gooner music videos. The thing that people draw depictions of for a living. And they're being threatened with modern tools just like every other fucking profession has been forever.

Jeremy Clarkson just leased a driverless tractor. Boom, there goes half his business relations. No more hiring the bumpkin who became a celebrity in his own right. Retired by modern developments, like every other fucking job.

Ars Technica: Court reveals Anthropic bought millions of used books to train Claude (archive)
Ultimately, Judge William Alsup ruled that this destructive scanning operation qualified as fair use—but only because Anthropic had legally purchased the books first, destroyed each print copy after scanning, and kept the digital files internally rather than distributing them. The judge compared the process to "conserv[ing] space" through format conversion and found it transformative. Had Anthropic stuck to this approach from the beginning, it might have achieved the first legally sanctioned case of AI fair use. Instead, the company's earlier piracy undermined its position.

I always wondered if you dump a game/movie then the physical copy gets destroyed, if you still have a legal right to that digital copy (pro-piracy arguments aside). I guess now I have my answer.

In 2001, Peter Jackson's studio modernized the way we do movie battles by setting up a game-like simulation where all the army units dealt with their own animation and pathfinding. This was so that they didn't have to hand-animate hundreds of characters in every shot.

But it's the human aspect that makes something worth watching, right? If they didn't bother to animate those armies, why should I watch them?

The latest Hot Shots Golf uses generative AI for leaf and tree textures ONLY, the most minor and disposable type of game texture, and retards are up in arms about it:

I've never clicked "Ignore" on a Steam page so quickly
Fuck. Just watched the overview trailer which looked awesome. This sucks.
Hope this game gets review bombed

Do you actually agree with these people? What's the point of playing a video game if the tree textures weren't painstakingly created by hand? Or is it the complete assembled game with all of its mechanics and presentation that people actually care about?

I don't think they had to destroy the book, it was the cheapest and fastest way to scan massive amount of books. Unless I'm misunderstanding this.
I think he's referencing what the article says, where the judge implies the fact that they destroyed the books was part of the reason that made it more fair of a use:

And the reason for this is mass scanning often involves slicing off the spines and feeding the books into a scanner.

I hate that shit. Destroying books is a crime against humanity and the fact that courts, in the name of mindlessly groveling to Disney-level worship of copyright, essentially have made utterly destroying physical books a good thing, legally.

Fuck this gay world.

Man I know that most of this is just the internet being the internet and bipartizanal retardation. But holy fuck why can anti ai people not go two seconds without mentioning how bad ai is? The amount of this grandstanding whatever bullshit is genuinely worse than trans shit. Somehow they are less obnoxious. I saw this video, or at least the first 10 minutes because I am not going to waste another half hour watching this.
And I assumed that oh it's going to be taking the piss out of some content farm and laughing at how bad it is. But no. It's the same as every other anti ai video. Can't go two seconds without mentioning how soulless ai is and that it's bad and evil without actually explaining why. Remember that trend fuck probably about like 5 years ago now, of people 'testing' lifehacks that are just obvious bullshit and mocking troomtroom or 5mincrafts and that sort of shit. Imagine if after every time they get out a pool noodle and a disposable latex glove they feel the need to give you a quick reminder that microplastics are bad and that the noodle foam will remain in the ground for 500 years and that dying children in Africa could be using the pool noodle to learn how to swim and that they don't endorse the inappropriate usage of pool noodles.

I said it in the kiwi sloptuber thread. One of the main reasons I came here and made this account is because I got so fucking tired of kiwitapes and his dogshit noncommentary. The man has a career based on LOLcows, yet is incapable of LOLling at the cow. Instead of just laughing at retarded shit online he can't go two seconds without grandstanding on how gambling is bad and bullying is wrong or whatever. This gives me similar vibes. It's a fucking ai slop channel with lower quality control than the average ai porn slop twitter account. You're looking at a video of 'congrats you just died in a car accident would you like to respawn in 1810 Texas' with a fucking image of a horse drawn carriage where the horse doesn't have fucking legs and is just floating and you're talking as if this is some serious problem instead of just laughing at it? Fucking lighten up you tight arsed faggot jesus. I've watched so many of these things expecting something decent, yet they are all as worthless and vapid as the content farms they talk about. I can't even try to put a number to it, probably 30-50 maybe, most of them I end up closing out of after a few minutes. So far only one of them has ever been anything other than grandstanding moralist retards with an inability to laugh. That was the manykudos and internet historian video, MK goes yea I kinda fucking hate ai art and think it's shit but then still goes on to use it and laugh at it. I think he says something along the lines of 'all my morals go out the window once I realise I can make my friends laugh with it', said in jest maybe, but clearly has some truth in there. I still find his solo videos to be a bit too preachy but they're on the line rather than fully crossed over into obnoxious cunt territory. It's almost as if these are two friends who genuinely enjoy each other's company and have a normal brain function who are just enjoying the absurdity of things instead of acting as if it's the end of the world. Maybe that's why they got 2 million views and this guy got 100k? Fuck it I've already referenced my other posts on this site once let's do it again. It reminds me of fucking Jim Sterling. Unable to have a laugh, just constantly doomposting and negativity acting as if the simplest of things is going to be the end of the world, constant preaching and grandstanding, and most importantly fucking dogshit content that everyone's gotten bored of and fucked off because of how repetitive and doomery it is. And also AI's knowledge of anatomy is about as good as his too.

I've probably said it enough to now be guilty of the exact same type of hypocrisy, but making these same grandstanding repetitive video 'essays' on ai content farms have in and of themselves become content farms. I have stared into the void and the void stared back, through heavily jpegged and oversaturated eyes that are slightly out of proportion, not quite enough to be instantly noticeable but still enough to trigger that uncanny valley feeling. I felt as it gripped at my mind and whispered to me "UwU OPPAI nyaaa~~~~~", for now I am become penis nipples 乳首チンコ illustrious-noob-v1.0 LoRA (54.77 MB); crustener of pants.

As always here's some retards from the comments so there's some actual seethe in the ai art seething thread.
Honestly there's 10 screenshots here, it took probably less than 20 comments. It's retards all the way down.

Here's the top comment. Maybe I'm wrong and just assuming things, I will continue to make assumptions not out of malice but just so I'm thinking as much as these people are. It just sounds like the top comment is another one of the 'ai has a massive library of 'stolen' content that it pulls from' type retards. I'm also a pretty big supporter of media preservation and archival. There are things on this very site that I fucking wish were never made or seen again, I'm not going to say that deleting that shit is a good idea just because I don't like it though. You're not a supporter of media preservation, you're a supporter of 'media I personally like' preservation.

Here's the second top comment. Because critical thinking is overrated. Yep, AI is causing the server costs to inflate. Definitely not the billion Indians posting literal years worth of footage every single day. Those are fine because they're, well, I guess slightly less inhuman than AI, just about. At least when the AI isn't literally just an Indian at least.

The channel in the video routinely got over 100k shorts views, some in the millions. Probably a bit more than 20usd. Apparently a piece of AI text consumes thousands of watts of energy. So here we have someone who is either clinically retarded or a child. Last time I checked that's not how you measure energy, the unit you're looking for is watt-hours. Because once the image is generated it doesn't keep using power? It's hard to even say anything because of the fucking watts but no image is using thousands of watts to generate. The 5090's tdp is 575W. You could just about make a computer use 1kw if you tried. But that'd take seconds to generate if you had a setup like that. You know what does take 'thousands of watts'? A fucking microwave. Mine's 1kw exactly, should I stop using that because it uses thousands of watts per hot choccy? Once again what about the Indians? You know the people that have a noticeable power draw because they wake up and spam everyone with good morning gifs, similar to how power and especially water usage spikes as the ad breaks start on tv? Idk I just feel maybe if one thing is bad then both things should be bad?

'Companies showing how a product is useful is responsible for people seeing how a product can be useful'. And car ads are harmful because they show a car producing a global warming in the adverts. No one needs 'desensitizing' to ai. This isn't some war footage Vietnam shit, it's a goofy little image of a horse with no legs or some shit like that. The point of google and all the other companies promoting their ai isn't to desensitize people to it, it's to fucking show people how to use it? Normal people don't have a retarded bias against technology like you do?

Well why isn't it then? AI is already obviously high enough quality to make an ai powered content farm, so why is that not already 90% of the internet? Money is already the main draw of posting on youtube so why is my feed literally 100% free of ai? Money is the primary drive for people to post videos, 90% of the videos online are vapid pointless slop from video 'essayists' like you just watched or it's kids content or some other shit. Youtube is already a fucking soulless shithole full of content farms.
wvcedscdesvw - Copy.webp

And I don't understand why people watch these anti ai grandstanding slop videos. It annoys me too and I also click away. But I am not the fucking arbiter of your life. I do not, can not, will not and fucking should not ever have the ability to dictate what you do or do not watch. Obviously excluding illegal content. I don't give a shit what people watch. You want to watch ai slop content farms? Go ahead. I watch gaming slop content farms that push out a video every single day to sleep to. The only exception is children, but that's just because no fucking child should be allowed on the internet in general, not just exclusively ai content farms.

Damn. 'beautiful bit of poetry'. If that's poetry then I'm fucking Shakespeare. He called something rubbish. That's a master wordsmith right there. Also once again this video is talking about a channel that gets hundreds of thousands of views. And youtube is once again, at risk of yet again becoming the repetitive slopper I am criticising, full of people posting absolute dogshit that no one will ever watch, from gameplay to vlogs to music to whatever, I would be willing to bet that about 75% of all videos uploaded to youtube never get more than 100 views.
wedvdevwdvwser - Copy.webp

If you genuinely think that ai art nowadays looks worse than the dalle proof of concept then idk what you need more, a psychologist or an optician. If you need someone to tell you something is bad, you do not actually think that it is bad. If you did not come to the conclusion of 'this is bad' on your own then it is not your opinion, it is someone else's that you just copied.
wvedrgvdewsr - Copy.webp

Maybe he gets more pissed later on but this video is about as emotionless as a schizoaffective on ssris. You know how people keep saying there should be some filter or plugin to block ai, I need that but for video 'essayists'. My life would be a thousand times better if I never saw any of these people again. I fucking despise video essays, if I haven't already made that clear. Their entire purpose is to stretch out something as simple as 'look at this goofy content farm' to fucking 40 minutes long to get more midroll ads all while simultaneously making paradoxical statements of simplistic 'this is bad' type comments and trying to appear fancy and professional so they can preach to you. Your fucking video talking about people wasting time watching ai content farm slop that could be summed up in under 10 minutes, is instead drawn out to 40 for no reason other than to try and look fancy and professional. Off topic but the absolute fucking worst of these is pyrocynical, not because his content is specifically worse than any other but because of the reception. None of his 'video essays' have been anything more than a gameplay review/walkthrough or tier list that should take a few minutes at most but are instead stretched out to the point that no one with a fucking life could watch a single one of them in a day. And everyone praises them as if they're some modern masterpiece despite being entirely void of comedy or original insight. It's just yea here's what the game is and how it works, I will now continue to talk about that and only that for the next 8 fucking hours. Also there is nothing 'drastic' or 'life changing' about someone posting shitty ai slop that will probably get no views. I agree there are certain things that you should be pissed about that a lot of people who talk about it simply don't. The fact that you have to scroll by 30 human made shit videos and 1 ai made one to find anything of value on this site instead of just 30 human made slop videos is hardly a serious issue. Unironically go outside. I live in an area where people who work full time still have to pick between feeding their kids/pets or themselves, or between feeding themselves or having the heating on. I live surrounded by people with actual fucking problems. You need to try a bit harder to get me to care about oh no my heccing internet site that has been plagued with content farms for a decade now has become plagued with a slightly different form of content farm. I've watched youtube go from minecraft content farms, to leafy clone commentary content farms, to internet slop drama content farms, to video essay content farms, through the mrbeastification and those content farms, to kiwituber slop content farms and I'll watch it go to whatever form of content farm is next. That's not even considering the reply girl era and all of that shit from before I started using the site regularly. And throughout every single fucking period of that time there have been stand out creators who rose above that slop to produce things of actual value, that will never change because, despite these people constantly forgetting yet somehow paradoxically always talking about it, humans simply enjoy creation and will continue to do just that.

He says on a video that is (assumedly) 40 minutes of someone going 'ai bad'. AI content farms are a time vacuum, this video however no that's different. Neither have anything interesting or new to say and honestly who gives a shit? Once again, no one has the right to decide how you spend your free time. If you want to waste your time watching some preachy retard you can do so. If you want to spend your time watching ai content farms you are free to do so. If you want to sit in a pitch black room and finger your urethra for half an hour I'm not going to stop you. Your time is yours, not anyone else's, it is yours and yours alone to spend however you want. The vast majority of the internet is just a fancy way of wasting your time so you'll look at some ads. Writing this post is just a way of wasting my time. Watching youtube is just a way to waste time. No one is gaining anything here. At most you might take what this guy said and turn it into your own anti ai slop and make a few shekels from it. But you're not going to go into a job interview and start talking about this amazing youtube video you watched, I'm not saving these posts to put in a cv. We're not learning anything either. The internet is, for the most part, a form of recreation, be it writing this post, watching that youtube video or watching the content farms it talks about. It is all just a way to pass the time and as long as you enjoy it who cares how you spend that time?
vwdrevdrw - Copy.webp

Also on a personal level, I find it fucking cringy as shit when youtubers heart comments praising them. It just idk feels a bit self sucky you feel? The guy hearted a few other comments but I'd say maybe 8/10 of the hearted ones are just saying how amazing the video is instead of anything 'substantial'. It just feels a bit like an ego trip.

Anyway I must be off. I have daily chores to do like posting 10 images I made for extra AI credits. I still don't understand why that's a thing. I'm just posting absolutely everything including the things that obviously fucked up. I have no idea how that helps the platform in any way. Yea sure I'll post the shit where the character has their torso on backwards or has an extra arm if you want me to, I just don't get how that helps you in any way. Surely that would actually balloon server costs unlike doing that on youtube?

Do you actually agree with these people? What's the point of playing a video game if the tree textures weren't painstakingly created by hand? Or is it the complete assembled game with all of its mechanics and presentation that people actually care about?
I wonder if these people know how many of Super Mario 64’s textures were originally public domain or from asset CDs. Or how much of Sonic Rush’s creative music is remixed from sample CDs.
I’ve seen a couple game dev videos where someone will show a scene from their game then add a disclaimer saying no AI was used, like that’s somehow meant to make it more appealing and not like they’re bragging that they did pre-algebra without using a calculator.

If one of your game's main selling points is that it didn't use AI then maybe you should be spending less time pandering to twitter faggots and more time making a game that can stand on it's own merit.

This isn't Art but I found this Robert Miles AI safety guy through an animations channel he narrates (and I don't think animated cuz the origina videos have some thick accented guy talking about being a weaboo). The rational animations channel is interesting because it tells a lot of cool metaphors that are ultimately just AI scary, but I've kinda been diving into this group of AI safety people and it's sorta interesting.

The way they talk about it is almost like if you know people who have become doomers about global warming, but the global warming alarmism they are into isn't main stream or funded by anyone. They like vastly over estimate impacts and the importance of what they are doing to be special.

Structurally I think the Rational animator (and looking now it's actually a big channel run by like 10 people) and this Robert Miles guy are really into this Eliezer Yudkowsky neck beard. Then Eliezer switched from writing about studying the blade and being ugly to writing about aliens and AI which got them into the kurtzegart algorithm to get that German propaganda Gibs.

Here's like an OG video so I'm not just contributing a wall of text
These guys are still going, not all of their videos are about AI, and they've taken breaks from that being their only topic but they're back to it and their last two videos are more doom and gloom.
And still apostles of Yudkowsky. Somehow, they expect the most rational path from "image generator that makes funny cartoons" to "neural net that can write good and copy voices" is for it to be a literal machine god in a few generations. These people can't help themselves with the logic leaps and fantastical thinking. Everything wrong with Kurstzegart but hyper focused on technoautism. Their next video, their latest, starts from the conclusion that AI will inevitably progress into skynet humanity crushing overlord and postulate on calculating when AI will replace all work that requires intellect.
They of course don't do this work themselves, and rely on some guy just basing a prediction for something that's never happened on economical models, how the industrial revolution automated physical labor. It was also published in 2023 so it's not exactly cutting edge.
https://controlai.com/take-action (A)
They're also now shilling a group that basically reads like a climate doomsperging interest if you palette swapped AI onto it.

Take Action

Here you'll find a collection of guides and tools that supporters can use to learn more about the extinction risk of AI, engage at the political and community levels, and take personal action.
The machine god future video was actually made in partnership with them:
This video was made in partnership with ControlAI, a nonprofit that cares deeply about humanity surviving the coming intelligence explosion. They are mobilizing experts, politicians, and concerned citizens like you to keep humanity in control. We need you: every voice matters, every action counts, and we’re running out of time.

Over on Reddit, some Redditor claimed that "gooners" think AI "slop" is good enough and getting better which "normalizes" such. When one looks at how AI-generated art -- any art, not just the XXX stuff -- can be good (though not always), one can see that not only "gooners" see it that way. Oh yeah, one guy responded saying the first guy is salty AI "slop" is replacing commissions, and of course that comment was massively downvoted (lol). And of course the first guy also seems to think AI "slop" is always "soulless".

Source?

I hate AI slop farms as much as the next guy, but the amount of people who cry and piss their pants over the idea of any AI being used ever is absolutely nuts.

"Oh no I won't buy this golf game because the fucking background greenery was AI generated!". It's the same shit as people assuming that using asset packs meant slop zero effort games, except somehow even worse.

the term "slop" is also getting overused these days.
I agree, though I think it's perfectly apt for describing Indians and Chinks shitting out 0 effort farmed content.

The problem is when people start using it to describe anything that has even a whiff of AI assistance, even if said AI assistance isn't even directly in the final product (ie: Palworld).

These people are mental. Some of the places i've frequented are riddled with those who go on a sperg rage over the minorest use of ai, some of which gets scrubbed down the line, because god forbid you ever use it for menial task.

Anyway, has anyone noticed a trend where somebody just brings up AI unprompted regardless of subject? Or that one where the artist spergs about the soul over a piece of art that looks like the human equivalent of a ms paint drawing?
