Well yes it does.

First of all, because eventually someone will say: “You know, I don’t think they’ll ever pay up!” And the whole stack of debt certificates becomes virtually worthless.

Secondly, and more importantly: WE PAY INTEREST ON THAT DEBT.

The cost of servicing US debt are already as much as the pentagon budget. Every year. And it only gets worse. Welcome to the near future where most of your tax dollars will go towards paying interest for the debt they created 5, 10 years previously.

I swear, some of you going: “BIG BRAIN MOMENT! DEBT DOESNT MATTER!!” Is like watching some nigger suddenly decide that he’s not going to pay his credit cards, because what can they do?
The nigger doesn't control the global economy and have the power to turn the Earth into a fireball.

The swamp is the moat. A great big grouchy alligator-filled entertainment moat that goes on for miles and miles...
I'm thinking of it being on an old one lane road in Monroe County. They'd have to dig that out, add tons of water, let the swamp do the rest. There could be a boat station to and from the facility and the road.

Addendum: @inetsone - Meanwhile, in Haiti:

This is true. However, as the reserve currency of the world, we're able to do 2 things which make this slightly irrelevant.

1) Create artificial scarcity and bottlenecks of our currency. Basically, impoverishing other countries in a push pull game. This leaves them indebted to us.

2) Use #1 to power play control of their resources in a way where, the entire globe basically pays tribute to the US, sending us their... well, everything.

It's not a perfect arrangement. Not by any means. There is a lot wrong with it and you could even say unethical. However, our wealth as a country (contra interest) has been on the backs of this system and the rest of the world.

A lot of what you see happening tho (middle class disappearing) is partly a result of more people wanting a cut into that system but it's questionable whether that's possible. Also the ruling class at the top requires ever more money to keep their game going... which can't continue forever.

It would take Biden a month or more to do that, and he'd call AT&T Bell phones, you know the thing with the rotary dial. Anyway we would be playing outside with the white kids and poor kids when the one phone the city had rang to tell us the hindenburg was coming by. And that's when I realized corn pop was on it and it burned like the MAGA republicans want to do with our democracy.

If the bolded is true then everything you said before these sentences is irrelevant.

What I said is merely descriptive. It is how the system works. Bankers have told me not to explain it to reg people. They want to keep this stuff in the shadows. But it's important to know because as you note, the elite class can't keeping sucking up every dime forever... hopefully. So, you're 100% correct.

A similar, old example is how stocks used to be listed and traded in fractions. Wall Street bigly resisted changing over to decimalization because they didn't want it to be clear or easy for reg people to buy stocks. This only changed around 2000. So think about that... we were still trading stocks in the US using denominations based on the Spanish Real like it was 1784.

I have mixed feelings on the thing itself but the left's response to shit like this is a perfect example of their hypocrisy.

Vietnamese, native americans, etc. use very simple nature based solutions instead of complex technological ones? Stunning, brave, so smart, they're so connected to mother nature, white man dumb.

Trump does it? What an idiot he doesn't understand how the world works we live in the age of technology idiot! Walls don't work moats don't work reeeee!

In general the left seems to not understand that the business of violence hasn't fundamentally changed all that much in thousands of years. Rockets, tanks, and jets are all kind of a war of their own but man to man things still get dirty.

You see it in the way they talk about policing, they imagine there must be some more effecient way to deal with a cracked out nigger waving a machete, they're so used to online interactions where you can just change a value to make something not allowed or bannable, they can't comprehend that in the real world you have to physically make people do shit.

The BBB is still a decent bill but yes the RINO's refused to allow several high value laws to go ahead

For some reason RINO's really really want Medicaid to pay for illegals and gender surgeries. Beats my why, it's not going to be a winning topic for them.

The gun stuff was expected, I think it was put in the BBB just so they could cut something to satisfy the RINO's need to be seen as still relevant.

We will have to see what the House does with it. I still have hope they will shove the Medicaid stuff back in and we can work on gun rights later. It's more important to get the illegal alien shit in and passed then it is to get a few folks their suppressors.

For the record I agree on the gun rights stuff but I do see it as a necessary sacrifice to get the better items passed.

Does it even matter that the USA has infinite debt that will never be paid? What are the other countries going to do? Stop trading with the US?
debt is mainly owed to banks and financial institutions, not foreign governments.
if you as the us government default on your debt, that alone might cause a financial crisis with bank failures and all the associated economic problems that come with that.
your trustworthiness in the finance industry also goes down the toilet, you will have a hard time borrowing more money in the future
once that happens, once nobody will lend you money, how do you keep government functional?
either you balance the budget so you dont need to borrow (but if you were able to do that you would have just done it earlier to avoid this whole situation)
or you go straight for the money printer, which causes inflation far beyond anything we have seen in recent history

Because they're bought and paid for by the medical industry. It's a way for hospitals & insurance companies to siphon money off of the federal government.

What's more, because it is illegal to turn away ANYONE in the ER, it's one of the ways hospitals try to recoup those costs.

I.E. It's all about the fucking money.

Most of the time it's being sapped off rather than actually helping people in need:
- The Illegals brought into the country and giving blank checks/free care, screwing over hard working citizens.
- The Hoodrats who get pregnant at 18 and then spend the majority of their life cashing in free healthcare and EBT.
- The Drug Addicts who claim mental disability so that way they don't just croak over from a OD.
- The Managerial class that builds up and bloats the system due to how overreaching it is
Possibly-stupid question, but why, when I talk to people irl, do they deny these people exist? They must just not interact with them right? I'm being serious here. Even when I speak to people on that side who I genuinely respect, they always point to "studies" and "data" and say "anecdotes don't count" or "Don't fall for right wing propaganda" but I feel like they must never just walk outside or take public transportation, or things like that. It's one thing to say "Oh we're living in the safest time ever!" or "The welfare queen is a republican myth!" but it's like they've never even seen those things themselves.

Gun rights has been butchered to hell and back, especially the meaning of it. But I suppose that's for the best. It was originally an insurgency clause. If the Left had the stones to pick up rifles and force a change upon the government in DC, they could've gotten it done much faster, especially given their numbers. They could easily throw Trump back in prison if they were that brave.

I.E. It's all about the fucking money.
This country was founded by people who helped push Britain to go to war with France, then refused to pay when Britain started taxing them to pay for that war.

It was always about the fucking money.
