The gacha argument has no legs because as an avid slopconsumer I know that several failed gacha games have implemented EoL schemes that keep the game playable after server shutdown and it's actually a relatively easy thing to do - you just retune rewards so the currencies are available through normal play, so the gacha elements still work as before but there's no online connectivity involved. An example of this that comes to mind immediately is the Megaman gacha.
