Isn't it difficult to get rid of American debt on a conceptual level because so many people have financial interests tied to America having its debt because so long as the ceiling is increased, it's a safe investment with ever-returning yields, but paying it off effectively decreases the value of the bond through lowering its overall yields?
Getting rid of debt under our current monetary policy framework is never going to happen anyhow. And there is no political will on either side to actually fix the issues causing unnecessary debt. It's kinda unfixable in our current political system, so its kinda w/e yano

Isn't Beshear a part of an entrenched generational political family? He glides on name recognition alone?
yes and yes. The State democratic party has a entrenched machine that is only starting to collapse now. after the civil war Confederate veterans and democrats had a strangle hold on the state because of how the Republican federal government had treated the state. this carried on through inertia until now, getting shots of new energy via FDR years and the New deal alliance.

but most of the old-timers that built the machine and ran it are either dead or retired now and replaced with limousine liberals from Louisville and Lexington and the actions of the DNC at the federal level have led to the party losing all control of the state legislature, cabinet and seats in the house of reps. and senate.

Beshear coasts along on his Daddy's name and the fact he can't actually do any of the radical idea's he holds, so he gets to take credit for republican bills and gets the benefit of the "rally around the flag" effect after disasters.

he is going to run for president in 2028. he's already building his campaign. he was on the short list for Kamala's VP. I don't think He'll win the primary though, because he is still a southern white man from a family of good old boy politicians. unfortunately for him, he has no hope of getting a senate seat so the presidency is his last option.

Thank you. It looks like the bankruptcy only applies to FAFSA. If you have a loan from a private bank, I assume you are still fucked.
Nope, it applies to all student loans, including private. Some private student loans are actually easier to discharge, as they don't have the higher bar to clear (although you pay for it in the much higher interest rate, I had one of those my last semester of college...it hurt).
