Gen X was able to buy land and have kids. That's where most of the Millennials come from. As for the Millennials, many of them were born in a time of wealth and prosperity, so they at least had a taste of paradise before it all went to hell.

My point exactly. Not only is Gen Z barely trudging on in a world of shit, but they are keenly aware of people who are living better than them, who have more wealth than them, who don't have to deal with the same problems they do, and they have to deal with these people on a daily basis.
COVID was the catalyst for Zoomers just checking out. Ofc they still work and get paid but unless they are in a specialized field, or in a super cheap area, they can't afford homes, or they live paycheck to paycheck. A lot of them are atomized and don't do social interaction. A lot of them a dumb, a mixture of demographics, and a school system not really teaching them. My understanding is that both genders are lonely now, about 50%ish but whenever men talk about their lonelness its usually handwaved, or they are called incels. I have noticed a shift lately, even if slowly, of talking about male loneliness and how to address it more without calling them Incels and i think that's one positive step.
