He’s a moderate compared to what we’ll see in the West. An aging population + youth discontent is not a good combination for the Western establishment. There’s not a way to vote out of this for a good chunk of the countries. The youth have everything to gain and nothing to lose. We’ll see a surge in more right wing populism and in communism, depending on the country.
My gut feeling is that it’ll be more of the former than the latter, but unironically I foresee a rise in nationalism and in benefits being tied to national identity as a reaction to the status quo. Austere conservatism that’s focused on “financial responsibility” and “free trade” is dead.
Imo the Western Elites have made a fatal error with mass migration. Not unlike their management with Africa and the Middle East they have downplayed the importance of culture, religion, language, annd ethnicity. They’ve gone from drawing arbitrary lines on maps to seeing their own countries as arbitrary lines on a map. Essentially an economic zone with a army.
The second is the oversimplified view on demographics. The idea behind mass migration is that they’d have more workers than dependents and thus prop up the gibs. They were trying to kick the can down the road but instead immigration is acting as a catalyst for decline because many of the importers end up on welfare or bring over dependents (children but especially elderly parents).
Furthermore, rather than addressing the underlying issues it’s just easier to blame the racist chuds and to clamp down on them. Rather than adhering to due process and historical values/precedents they’ll ruin those who ask questions. Imo this specifically is undercutting the legitimacy of most of the West and is ultimately setting up a more authoritarian future. “What is good for the goose is good for the gander.”
