I read that as "Gnome Preparation Camp" at first. What the fuck are they afraid of?
That the new EU Games Protection Commission is going to be knocking on their door to drag them to Game Preservation Camp for their thought crimes?
The funniest part to me is that the alternative to this scenario is just the game not even launching. Good luck uhh not even launching the fucking game let alone encountering something that might be difficult or whatever."Good luck soloing raids"
Maybe that was his goal all along. We were playing checkers while he was playing 4d chess. The mastermind realised that all initiatives need a villain to unite against and the corporations weren't cutting it.Mald arguably did more to help Stop Killing Games than anyone by simply being such a insufferable faggot he united everyone against him and helped boost stop killing game's relevance into the mainstream thanks to all the streamers covering Mald's retarded takes on the matter. The irony is so fucking thick you could cut it with a knife and carve it into a bathroom gnome dildo.
Malding won't ever get it. We live in a society. If I tell the gamers tomorrow that like, an MMO will get shut down, or a truckload of live service games will be blowin up, nobody panics. Because it's all part of the plan.
But when I say that one, little old petition will get signed...
Well then everyone loses their minds!

I think the early ones effectively just handled game search, and the games themselves supported direct connection if you did have an IP. There are replacements like GameRanger. Also notably, Halo: Combat Evolved was updated to decouple it from GameSpy, once it had been shut down.Wearing my age a bit here, but do any of you remember the World Opponent Network, mPlayer, and GameSpy Arcade? I’ve been seeing chatter that even back in the late 90s and early 2000s that multiplayer games could be shuttered. People have always managed way to revive the master servers so people could use server browsers, though likely not without a concerted effort.
No. 6 million is the interesting number hereNow it's time to get it to 1.5 million
Don’t give him even that much credit, Jason Hall is a moronMaybe that was his goal all along. We were playing checkers while he was playing 4d chess. The mastermind realised that all initiatives need a villain to unite against and the corporations weren't cutting it.
A bunch of Ross's points here are word for word what I've seen on the thread, so I do appreciate whoever is feeding him this info/if he's watching.
Even if FFXIV was unfriendly to solo play. If you were able to host your own server or offline sessions, you would be able to mod the game to make it solo friendly.Pirate Software brings FFXIV as a main example when 75% of the game is a single player title, also bringing a stupid example of "Good luck soloing raids" when majority of the game is single player and having to have veteran friends of yours or you being a veteran having to wait for them to reach a certain point of the game to be able to play specific content with them like the Nier raids.

The jannies are working overtime today
I think Ross was concerned about it early on and always had a personal goal of 1.2 million, but I don't have a source on thatEven Ross thinks a good amount of these are botted. I thought the people posting worried about bots (myself included) were being paranoid but it seems like it's a real thing.
That's why the goal needs to be 2 million. Is anyone of you worried about the (purposefully) fake or fraudulent signatures?
In fact, it is a dastardly way to screw with this system.
Never mind the fact that most people don't have millions of randoms in their parties anyways. Sure you may meet party members that way but on a dead game it's probably just you and people you met there or on another site anyways. He is really hung up on the "why would you play these games without 1000's of faggots running around on the same server?" idea.
He can't comprehend that maybe a few friends just want to get together one day and play some old game they used to play even if it is long dead.
