M8 I hate to break it to you but it’s fucking rock textures all the way down. Every step up in resolution doubles the file size and there’s no way around it. Any game over 100 gigs could be dropped to 50 by removing the 4K textures.

honestly its alot of reasons why I dont wanna play borderlands 3, the gameplay may be fun, but the constant shit puns, and dragging dialogue, and generally unfunny characters, jsut eugh, the 8k fucking textures is just icing on my hate cake.

Borderlands 2 was more fun, so Ill just stick to that game when I get that itch

This is why I like Roadcraft... The game is 30ish GB and you can download another 30 GB in 4k textures as a extra DLC in the store, but if you dont want it, it takes less space.

I got classified documents of a retrofitted Turbine of the C-5 Galaxy as a Power Plant that can use liquified Coal, Natural Gas, Gasoline and Diesel as fuel. Tho the paper states its classified, the turbines are petty much for civillian use

I mean, this seems kind of naive and forgive me for sucking a bit of corpo executive cock here, but... if there isn't an EOL plan from the start, and these games are just getting terminated by executive fiat, the executives are kind of in the right and I pity them for having to wrangle an organization full of retards who didn't think to themselves "maybe we won't be able to keep this server running until the heat death of the universe and we should have a plan for what to do when we decide to turn it off".

The executive running things isn't going to change the culture and will almost certainly greenlight another always online game without an EOL plan. They generally don't consider having an EOL plan until 5 minutes before shutting the game off.

This practice isn't new. Private servers for always online games have existed since the 1990s. In Japan it's taken as a given mmorpgs will be shut off within a few years. Like I remember Persona 3 has a social link framed around the player participating in an online relationship and the link ends when the mmorpg they're playing gets shut off. And that game was made in 2007.

The people who want to create these plans and build the game so that it can't be killed are usually individual developers. Not the corporate executives. There's no shortage of ways to keep the game running indefinitely, like just releasing the server binary so anyone can run it.

I've contacted two well known Twitch streamers, Mark Goldbridge and Limmy (not a fan of the latter but he has a huge following), and asked if they'd support the campaign to make Jason Hall saltier than the Dead Sea.

Messaging Twitch and Kick users with a big online presence will help - they won't want to be told that games they play might be destroyed because Jason's failed to lose his virginity to anything resembling a human being.
