This is one of the most confusing things. He even makes a tongue-in-cheek remark about it ("Chaeiry is an unreliable narrator.. Until she's making accusations about me"). It also shows that this vulture doesn't have an angle, he's just excited one of his greatest detractors (and a potential witness) is being smeared.
In the same breath that he says Chaeiry has thrice "metoo'd" him, we are also supposed to believe everything Chaeiry says about jstlk. He's simultaneously trying to become vindicated from her allegations, while also subscribing to them (as long as it targets his "ops"). I don't think he's worried about his viewers catching on to that, because cognitive dissonance requires cognition
