Wow, I'm surprised how clean the place is minus that grimy ass bath mat and toilet tray. But knowing that Adam considers spending 5 minutes picking the trash up off his floor a victory worth celebrating on twitter and he only showed one bedroom, his must be fucking condemned. The freshly steam cleaned carpets and lack of Chris Chan level mountains of Nintendo merch in that room all but confirm it and suggest he paid someone to clean it. I could sperg on for hours about how he waited til a month before he's supposedly moving to try to rent his rooms out, especially considering that rental income would likely be 2-3 times what he'll be making in Japan assuming that income goes to him and not his mom, but it's Cheebs.

The awful eyeraping Independence Day theme has me nostalgic for his Twitter sperging days. You just know he wouldn't be able to pass up the opportunity to post some tone deaf "I'm not proud of this country, orange man bad, free palestine" shit that even his peers would wince at.

I will never understand the obsession of some people to go live in 日本. Personally you would have to pay me to live in such a place and not even Gundam is enough. A friend once told me while high that anime is just some sort psyop to get westerners to move into 日本 to weaken the west by denying them future recruits while bostering theirs.

People who push this hard to move to Glorious Nippon tend to fall into one, or more, groups.

  1. Weebs: Chibi is one of these. Japan is his nirvana and all his problems will disappear once he moves there and he'll finally be happy surrounded by "his people".
  2. Culture: Knew a guy who moved to Japan because he was all into martial arts and that was his thing. He went there to learn and be immersed in it. He eventually became a master of the Tea Ceremony and holds an advanced rank in it. He's one of the only foreigners licensed to teach the Tea Ceremony.
  3. Opportunity: Japan has money. There's money and opportunity to be made there.
  4. Yellow fever: Some guys are just really into Japanese women.
Chibi is the first one and... that's about it.

As for your friend, there's a reason why he was high when he said that.

This would be an interesting thought if it wasn't for the fact that the type of people to move to Japan because of anime are people like Chibi, the dregs of western society.

This is pretty spot on from my experience. Funnily enough if you ever attend a language school for English speakers in Japan you will quickly see all these groups with exception to culture who tend to self study and master the language in ridiculous time. Group 1 always stink up the classrooms but I'd actually like to see how his learning ethic is.
