BTW Chronicles of Thomas Covenant is a book that predates isekai which is an isekai-style story where the first thing the isekai'd "hero" does is rape some random woman. What is it with isekai and rape.

Have we gotten any info about what his mother thinks of this?
I mean...she, if anyone must know this is gonna blow up and throw shit all over her life? Or is she just so relieved he is going away she just prays he dies over there and she wont have to deal with his shit anymore? Maybe she is just so sick of it all she did not even try to talk him out of it? (ye ye...i know. That would probably not have worked anyway but still...)

She probably thought he was an idiot for doing this. Cheebs has no prospects, nothing to fall back on to cover his debts and living expenses, and he has support in Japan. Lets just face it, she could have come up with a thousand valid reasons as to why this was a horrible idea that could potentially back fire and ruin his life and he'd still go ahead and do it because he thinks it'll just work out because he's Cheebs and he watches anime and plays video games.

Good news, the MC in Shield Hero was only accused of rape by one of the villains.

Bad news, he's a slave owner and we're still supposed to see him as the hero by virtue of being more competent than the other characters.

That would be the better ending, He gets isekai'd, everything is looking up, he gets a hot girl who helps him out and later on she turns on him and says he raped her.

In Thomas' case it was the fact that his dick started working again and he went a little nuts. Also he's a complete and utter asshole. Great story but the man is a lunatic.

In the Shield Hero's case it was a setup because the Shield Hero is deemed to be a demon who is against humanity and fights for the beastmen which the current church is against. They venerate the other three heroes to the point where the name of the church is the "Church of the Three Heroes".

Goblin Slayer but the protagonist is the level 1 fighter who dies in the 1st episode. Would make for a fun parody one-shot IMO.

This is also how I expect it to go when Chibi attempts to defend a fair maiden's honour in Japan from a gang of youths. (By 'fair maiden' I mean 14yo school girl who was already running away from him.)

So Japan is making/launching a government committee to address Japanese concerns over foreigners (both temporary and long term visitors). While this will end up being a nothingburger for Cheebs, it would be hilarious if it results in the people over there treating him like garbage because he's there on a work Visa.
