I imagine this new video is going to flop. If I clicked on a video titled The Problem w Video Essays I would expect something about how superficial they are or ubiquitous or whatever. Not Thomas Jefferson and city grids and some hulking dude in a cowgirl outfit. I’ve always found his videos to be so tangential and scattered though, this isn’t a new problem. In fact I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen one from start to finish. And now he doesn’t even bother w proper sets it’s just some stupid backdrop and him yammering for an hour. I wish his paypigs would revolt cause clearly he’s getting greedier and providing them w even worse content. I know they won’t though.

It seems to me like he didn't want to scrap all the work he already did on basically just converting that book to video format, so he decided to keep what he did but work it into something else. Thus it ended up being a rather poor video about the concept of video essays themselves since he changed the whole thesis like over halfway through.

One of the reasons that Olly is my main subject of preoccupation on this website is the way that even in offhand comments like this he manages to annoy me with turns of phrases like this. You talk about "opening weekend" when its a Mission Impossible movie in reference to things like its box office returns, not your fucking video essay on Youtube for god's sake. This fucking cosplay he brings to everything where he absolutely must pretend he's a proper big shot talking about opening weekends as if his video is going to be listed on Boxofficemojo tomorrow or he's going to be interviewed on the red carpet by Entertainment Weekly about his next big project is so uniquely infuriating about him, along with the inevitable weird attempts to be sexy that mostly just end up being extremely creepy and inappropriate that he'll bring into this as well.

I'm glad you posted this because I watched this video earlier and its important to keep in mind that hating on PT's antics isn't really something preserve to right wing people who hate socialism and trannies, his incompetence, ridiculous ego and generally repulsive nature tends to cut across political boundaries and its especially apparent that reasonably well read left leaning people can't stand his inept attempts to be an intellectual and the general cynicism and careerism he brings with him. This really became apparent with his Nietzsche video and how many people who'd never imagine going on a place like KF seemed to shoot up and go "wait, what? Is he seriously this fucking ignorant and badly informed about this topic, and he's claiming to educate people?"

Its so insulting that this terrible Jefferson video is clearly being made off the back of his terrible Nietzsche video and that Olly is treating the concept of actually applying something almost approaching standards to academic work to be a great revelation to himself and his audience and then he makes the absolute worst argument imaginable for using bad sources and going along with the first thing you read despite that. He's only been "giving away his degree for free (contingent on subscribing to Patreon and Nebula)" for, what, a decade now? And here we have finally learned that you shouldn't automatically believe the first airport pop history books you find on a particular subject and may have to have a varied reading and understanding of the arguments within a field before you go any further! Thank Choob! I feel like you should have realized the obvious problem with claiming that Jefferson created overly rational American borders by looking at one map of America's colonial borders before Thomas Jefferson was even born!

I've touched on this before but its also so fucking obvious that Olly avoids the issue of Palestine as much as he can possibly get away with and still remain within reasonably good graces within the general left, whenever it gets mentioned in his videos its overwhelmingly in a vague non-committal way in relation to something else that his video is actually about, and if you look at his Bluesky posts he doesn't seem to bring it up at all, not even in retweets.

It’s always so jarring seeing “Morgana” on film. I guess it’s trans privilege because no real woman would be cast in anything with teeth and skin so bad. He lisps throughout DEX not with a fagccent but just because of those teeth I’m pretty sure.

I thought this sounded weird given that the Wi Spa tranny was convicted of indecent exposure in the early 2000s, so I looked it up and found this article. The reason why he was found not guilty on all nine counts of indecent exposure was that there wasn't enough evidence to prove that the guy had an erection when he was exposing himself to the female customers in the women-only area of the spa. That's it. It doesn't change the fact that a male sex offender was granted access to a female-only space. Choob and Colin are such retards that they think it's an epic slam dunk against the TERFs that a convicted male sex offender wasn't found guilty of harassing real women and girls this one time, in a U.S. state that has gender self-ID and is known for being soft on trannies.

Of course, in a world that isn't clown world and in a U.S. state that isn't California, this male sex offender would've been convicted of indecent exposure because of the simple fact that he's a naked man in a space that's supposed to be for women and women only.

I sort of love how he just makes stuff the fuck up because it's so funny. In Choobworld, a video upload has an "opening weekend", his channel has "seasons" and "episodes" like a TV show, telling him he can't act is "backseat acting", people he meets once or twice can become his "best friend", it just goes on and on. Pure unfiltered choobing.

That's been clear for a while. He's fully immersed himself in that what could be charitably described as a subculture. He even left his normal agency to sign up with a troon-run one, severly limiting his future potential of getting mainstream acting roles. He's also been doing more activism, although in typical Olly fashion only when it gets him closer to people who hold any sort of power. A far cry from that one interview some time ago where he went on about not following politics and not speaking about it because he's 'just an actress who likes acting teehee'.

I personally like to believe his extreme narcissism (and absurd levels of misogyny) has now finally scared off and alienated all women in his life, forcing him to only hang out with other troons.
