I’m sorry, where did you get that idea?He/his family didn't flee till 2011, within a month after the 2011 uprising in Daraa.
Arabs are still tribal. One can live their entire life in, say, Kuwait, yet still say they are from Damascus, Syria. They never can become citizens of the country they land, so there is that emotional distance and tie to their home country that wouldn’t strongly exist if you immigrate and become a citizen, or even have full rights as a citizen which his family doesn’t have.
When Chantal first mentioned him, she specified that he was a syrian living in Kuwait since he had to flee during the war. After she arrived in Kuwait, the retcon story was that he was born in Kuwait to Syrian parents, and grew up in Kuwait.
I am not sure that’s a retcon, but as you said, Chantal lies. Not only does she lie, she pays no attention to other people and may have just said that he fled war (if she did) to make it sound romantic or interesting. I believe Salah was born in Kuwait and nothing he’s said makes me think otherwise.
We saw Salah’s mother’s grave, and she died when he was supposedly around 16. About 15 years ago, which would have been about 2009-2010? I’m not sure that timeline adds to fleeing war. His father became a professor, his sister a pharmacist, they all went to college, all things new immigrants might find takes a while but it’s what Salah seems to have grown up with. I understand they aren’t Pajeets so aren’t on the bottom rung but they aren’t on the top either.
Yes, but it would have made no difference if he was a lifelong resident of the country or new immigrant. His status as stateless was the same. I think that came long after he shared he was born in Kuwait-it’s not like the story ever changed. The lunatic poo touchers were @ing Syrian official accounts on twitter and stated they were calling local authority offices to tell them that a Syrian with a fake business was living in sin with a western, stink-beast sharmuta.
I’m not sure where you got this theory but just saying where you are from on Facebook isn’t any kind of proof. So I’m very curious if I missed something? I may very well have but it’s been what most of us have believed the past three years.
As for Chantal’s new post, I’m surprised she’s there still. She doesn’t look happy but it’s hard to tell in a photo. I hope she manages to upload something soon.
Chantal is actually afraid of a lot. Her cockroach luck and impulsively taking trips might seem adventurous to the casual eye, but she needed Peetz in the villa -she’s nervous about so much, including an unexpected glimpse in a mirror. She’s afraid of people walking by her car, elevators, ghosts, and mostly being alone. I think the idea of being alone in that cute apartment was so terrifying that Syria with Salah sounded better.
Once she got there and saw guys with guns on the streets, bombed out areas, and hearing what everybody was saying scared her again. For whatever reason, she can’t leave. Probably because she has nowhere to go. But I’ll bet she’s fully scared now and is leaving her house as little as possible and sleeping and eating as much as she can.
Hopefully we’ll see soon.
I don’t think Syrians will kill her but I wouldn’t be surprised if Syria did.
