Jim's problem might be that he literally can't go outside his home to touch grass. The photos he posted show that his yard is almost totally bare of grass, basically a mud pit with some sort of temporary folding fence around it with normal fields of grass on the other side.

My big brained theory is that the initial outbreak was extremely deadly hence the strict measures and hush hush by the chinese, but as the virus mutated it became less deadly but more viral which is why it spread so quick. The extreme reaction by every government on the planet was due to them not knowing exactly what they were dealing with but once they saw the high infection rates with low mortalities it became a case of how do we wind these measures back? with an added case of 'how far can we push this before we receive overwhelming backlash'? but the saint floyd riots threw everything into disarray which is why COVID quietly disappeared from the cultural zeitgeist

Jim admitted on one of his streams that Sargon basically recovered from being a punching bag during the prime of the Internet Bloodsports era, Sargon has been making something like 150k-200k a year from subscribestar/patreon, he's probably doing a bit better financially with the mild success of Lotus Eaters and it's many paywalled series.

His streams were very funny and scary at the same time. People tend to underplay how unknown everything was in the beginning and what sort of dystopian stuff the CCP was doing.

If you'd have paid any attention to the news on the past 20 years you'd have realized they've tried to push a plague every few years that amounts to a cold for healthy people

That's why what concerned me in February 2020 was the news going "hug a chinaman" before the script got flipped 180 degrees and suddenly the coof is airborne ebola that is totally the cause of death if you die in a drunk driving incident. After they flipped the script I became far less worried but, actually relevant to this thread, Jim didn't.
