Don't blame them. It's far easier to get the things you want from a few seconds of prompting and basic understanding of how said prompting works + with an optional LoRA than dealing with an artist who will make you pay twenty extra dollars for a basic paint job.

I have seen incredible works on par with Renaissance era stuff, and I have seen absolute horrors that make me wonder how the fuck these kids passed art school or how they mastered Photoshop. If I ever get it someday, or want to get into digital art, I would learn everything I could. I would want it to be the best shit imaginable, to my ability, because in the end, people want beauty, even if it is smut.

It's fanzine season, and here is one that was just launched. It's a T4T one, and the art is...nothing to write home about. It figures the largest one, the Convergence zine, has around 3k members and already broke its goals, and this one only has a few hundred. I plan on getting the digital version of this popular zine for the NSFW art; I'll let you know if it's any good or not.

The art community, especially online, can have members who are very cruel. I've seen people with unique, identifiable art styles get bullied off the internet by other artists (whose artworks aren't even the best) because of the art style. There's been this case where there was this person who drew Hatsune Miku in her style with prominent front teeth or whatever, all I know for sure is that the style wasn't the "pretty" artists wanted, so they harrased the artist. "WE WANT VARIETY," everybody?

I believe subconciously, they understand that their ideas (And demands toward others) are nonsensical, but they've already made the connection that self-mutilation will help them in their mind (And as we know the mind can justify almost anything, if it lacks a spiritual\moral base), which makes them be more inclined to continue on with the path they chose. They all regret it at some point - and all the psyche issues they have throughout their existence is the inner conflict hitting their concsiousness.

I experienced a lot of the things she did growing up. Doing right by the younger versions of myself, I know that my body is not a burden and not a shameful thing, and that no part of my body should have to be removed or added in order for me to be me. My boobs don't make me a sex object or a shameful creature. That she is passing off her inability to overcome that as a good thing is an insult to me and all the other women who've ever been ashamed of their bodies, and made to feel less human for it. She still believes that our bodies are unnecessary, and that if we don't want to be sex objects we need to change ourselves. Fuck that.
It's like Metamorphosis but the other way around. She's changing herself so that she's accepted by other people, but in the direction of NOT being sexually desired. The same forces are at play in both instances. True self love is rejecting those standards and not caring what other people think. This has always been known in this thread but as of recently I've been going through a bunch of people's artwork looking for inspo and what not, but my goodness gracious I'm so tired of going through hundreds of characters to see so many characters with almost no information except their sexuality and pronouns. I understand these elements being a part of a biography for the character but just that? Nothing else on the characters' actual personality? Oh right these people conflate sexualities and genders to stereotypes so they view these things as key personality trait. Not counter-intuitive at ALL. I do however get quite a laugh when someone makes all their transmen characters shy little sweethearts and their transwomen all big and buff sexual hunks.

It's a DeviantArt and Tumblr-spawned issue. Thousands of character reference sheets were uploaded over the years and all of them usually consisted of what you described. Plus the "artist" would sometimes draw their characters in vague scenarious to hint at (the lacking) personality.
