I don’t really think there is any sort of conspiracy to keep Elon’s party down, I think when his party fails it will mostly be because there is no target audience that isn’t already catered to by other parties, and who represent a sizable population. His party basically just sounds like the Republicans but more pro-H1B (at a time when most are increasingly sick of immigration) and vaguely more Libertarian, and I’m pretty sure that’s just the platform of the actual Libertarian party. And the kicker is that if he is trying to court Libertarians, they’re gonna get scared off because of Elon’s prior comments in support of gun control.

Getting 1% is normal for third parties in America for the more popular. I don't know if Musk even has that much support to get that much since the Libertarians and Greens both have solid bases of supporters. From what I've heard, Elon's trying for seats in Congress. All I got to say is he'll be lucky just to get one guy in since again, most third parties rarely get 1% of the vote.

The reason why Ross got a bunch of support in the 90s was due to his platform being a mix of policies from both parties. Plus a bit of populist rhetoric such as anti-NAFTA and healthcare reform also helped. Hell, he was even beating both Bush Sr. and Clinton in the polls in June before he withdrew briefly.

What could Elon bring to the table? What appeal does Elon have to the average American like you and me? What policies does he have aside from "muh deficit"?
