There are probably other factors, but one is how expensive it is to travel. And most people in the US are struggling to take care of basic needs. Considering the price of travel (planes, boats, etc), lodging, and other incidentals, many USAmericans just consider travel cost prohibitive.

Even travel within the USA is getting tough. Airbnb ruined the small hotel/motel ecosystem and pushed a lot of the smaller affordable independent places out of business. The ones that did survive are borderline bankrupt and unable to give the same budget experience they used to twenty years ago. Fuck airbnb. Techbros really 'shook up'(tore the copper wiring out the walls) of this country.

Yep. The average Trump voter doesn’t work a job that allows PTO or if it does, it’s the kind of job where you’re not expected to actually take it off. There are some really shitty jobs where your ass is expected to stick around in case the boss needs you to come in. The best they can do is maybe a three day weekend. Maybe they can take a boat out to the nearest public lake. Taking a week off is for faggots and socialists, same thing amirite? They’re a workin’ man which means their bosses get to take those weeklong vacations while they hold down the fort. It’s a very tough mindset to break because many take a retarded sense of pride in getting fucked over. It builds up a bitterness in them that turns them into miggers.

I appreciate the sentiment but this thread mostly serves the purpose for me of containing genuine non-TES ruminations on whatever ridiculous shit is going on in the US right now. Your takes are far more interesting than mine could possibly be.

Most Europeans are extremely smug and forthcoming about their contempt for Trump, it's truly only Americans and then the extreme fringes of non-US countries that actually like him. Even blatant agitprop fellas like Farage probably don't really like Trump and just buddy up to him for clout.
