I wanted to watch the new season of Yofukashi no Uta but already in the first episode, the translators could not help themselves.

I heard about this, and have seen people voicing their complaints about the first episode of a romcon manga adaption, Busu ni Hanataba o. The main character has a moment where she's had an embarrassing moment with a boy she likes and has gone to the ladies' room to hide, and, according to Japanese-fluent people says "Its over, Its all over!" a couple of times. So, take it away, localizers:

Behead localizers.

Does anyone know a good place for fan translations?

never forget the author's barely disguised fetish.
but keep in mind japan is another culture, they see sex and violence through a somewhat different lens than westerners that grew up under a christian morality for 2000 years. if you fuck your mate's gf you end up in hell.
not that it takes so long for that difference to form, just look at usa and europe. burgers have no issue with violence, while europe has. in return europe is for more chill regarding sexuality (for good or bad). that repression probably also explains why burgers have to sexualize bloody everything...
as for the horny in conjunction with violence - hormones. adrenaline does some weird shit, if you never got hit by a full blast because your body decided you needed it you'll have a lot of fun when it happens. and that's before going into the psychological effects.

or the author just wanted cheap shock value, who knows.
nah
everyone views sex and violence through the same lense
how they treat it is wildly different

Modern society as a whole is plagued with cognitive dissonance on extreme levels. It's why people don't blink at a kid playing a game with blood and guts but then cry for the police when it shows tits. Japan's deal is portraying people as wild characters in fiction while all of them attempt to conform to the same blank bug person in real life. Their idea of something funny is cringe humor because they just find someone in an embarrassing situation as the most ludicrous thing possible since they all avoid it as much as they can.

Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star remake trailer officially dropped, alongside a 2026 release date. It looks positively abhorrent.
Like, back in 2023, I was already worried when the teaser poster was released featuring 3d models of Zeed grunts. Now the video confirms we're getting muddy-brown skinned people akin to what they did in the OVA and the abominable 3D animation that was also present in regenesis which will make it look like a 2005 console game running at 10 fps (see below).
I have very mixed feelings about the Hokuto no Ken teaser trailer, overall.
On it's own, there's nothing particularly bad about it. Stuff is nice-looking; it's true that there's a bit too much brown, but this is the post-apocalypse we're talking about, no? I'd say it's still more colorful than any of the past OVAs, but your mileage will vary, and gore is uncensored, for those who care about that.
That said, I did watch all of the Souten no Ken Regenesis anime a while back, and the hilarity of it CGI staticity is still fresh in my mind.
I just plain don't like CGI in anime action. I didn't like it in Baki or Kengan Ashura and I'm not really sold on the teaser either. It's very goofy that they couldn't just stick to traditional animation all the way. Oh well, I guess it could've been far worse.

The finale of Vigilantes two weeks ago was great. Knuckleduster is best dad.

Any recommendation how to get into the series? There are ton of adaptions.

The original anime has infinitely more color, it's not even a contest. Just because everything is a desert doesn't mean you have to turn down saturation by like 50%.

Quality (Heart of Madness) scans are becoming progressively more difficult to find online. Everything else is either of shit quality or horribly translated, like DUWANG tier bad. The OG 1984 version (also subbed by HoM) is probably your best bet. You'll want both HNK and HNK2, for a total of 152 episodes (109 + 43).

Blitzkrieg Anne has gotten a little better in recent weeks. Everyone's shallow development will remain a gimping factor on the show, but it's settled into a weekly happenings format which serves the plot much better. The series will never match up to 1979, but since it's slowed down a bit and started tackling fresh content, it's felt easier to watch. That said, they've got 10 episodes to finish up two books of content including a trip to college and a romance arc. Anne's childhood was already covered by two previous anime, the grunt work was already done for them. They should have started with Anne teaching at Avonlea and spent the next 24 episodes developing the characters, not hastily rehashing 50 episodes worth of content in just 10, then moving on to adapt two books in the remaining 14 episodes.... like god damn who planned this shit out?

You should also take note of that cancerous WB logo in the corner. Just more (((western))) tendrils getting into the eastern pie with inevitable mandated-nigger consequences.

I have no willingness to watch anime right now because I loathe how difficult the current crop of pirate websites are to use. I wish 9anime would come back.
