Opinion If Poor Black, White People Unite, They’d Be An Unstoppable Force, But Here’s Why The Powers That Be Won’t Let Them - We need to understand that America's current racial political divisions did not happen naturally. People in power did not want Black and white people to work together

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 27: U.S. President Donald Trump answers questions during a press conference on recent Supreme Court rulings in the briefing room at the White House on June 27, 2025 in Washington, DC. The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that individual judges cannot grant nationwide injunctions to block executive orders, including the injunction on President Trump’s effort to eliminate birthright citizenship in the U.S. The justices did not rule on Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship but stopped his order from taking effect for 30 days

President Donald Trump followers are clear examples of people voting against their own interests. He has most recently persuaded the Senate and House of Representatives to push through his Big Beautiful Bill that will strip millions of Americans, white and Black, of their health care.

This is after he gutted the federal workforce, sending thousands of governmental employees (again, both white and Black) packing. What’s shocking is that many of the people he is hurting helped the man get into the White House.

By now it is common knowledge that white Americans are the reason why Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in 2024. But there is a deeper question we need to be asking that is bigger than why the man who currently sits behind the Resolute Desk is there.

The question is as simple as it is complex. Why are we so deeply polarized in this country along racial lines?

The division runs deep. So deep, in fact, that many fail to realize that we, white and Black folks, have so much in common politically. Especially when it comes to working class white people. If they were to only open their eyes, they would see they have far more in common with Black folks than they do with Trump and people like him.

So how did we get here? Well, unsurprisingly, much of what we are seeing traces back to America’s original sin: slavery and the war between the states that erupted in its wake.

If you ask most white folks in the South about their ethnicity (their cultural identity), they will just tell you they are American. If you ask most in the North, they will identify as American, yes, but also as Irish, Italian or some other ethnicity that traces back to Europe.

Why is this important? Because it shows how the political establishment at that time (almost all white men) convinced white people to identify as white above all else. They did that to solidify support against the growing movement to free slaves. But they did not stop there.

After losing the Civil War, political leaders continued to pit white Americans against Black ones. They convinced all whites, but especially working-class ones, to see Black Americans as their enemy. They told them Black men were animalistic and after their daughters and they persuaded some to see Black women as welfare queens who did not want to work. But Black folks are not without blame in this.

We have always looked suspiciously at white politicians who wanted our vote. But there are an untold number of Black politicians who courted the Black vote and then did not do what’s best for the Black community.

Any time a person threatened to bring together white and Black people politically, they just happened to be killed. That is not to say that this is the reason why Bobby Kennedy, who was building a biracial political coalition, or Fred Hampton, who was politically uniting working-class white and Black people in Chicago, was killed.

So again White and Black people have more in common that we like to admit. We may not all like the same music nor do we season our food the same way. But we would be wise to look past the way political leaders try to divide us. Because none of us are helped by seeing each other as the enemy.

"If everyone would just..." strikes again.

I guess I appreciate that this journo isn't just blaming whites for the divide, but the fat cats, but it's still not necessarily the fat cats' fault. People instinctively distrust people who don't look like them. While much of that distrust has been beaten out of whites over the past several decades, blacks are still free to hate on anyone different from them. They have the most in-group preference and out-group hostility of any major demographic in the U.S. They're not uniting with any other groups to achieve any goals, even if they could get their shit together enough to pursue goals other than "gimme".

Abolish the welfare system, deport all 60 million illegal immigrants.

Then poor blacks and whites can unite as the new working class and vote for the party that's more likely to protect their paychecks and not trans their kids instead of whoever isn't going to cut their food stamps.

They'll never unite.

There's too many fundamental worldview differences.

Poverty to a white is seen as a lack of sustenance and opportunity
To a black, it's a lack of raw opulence

Unfair to a white is being singled out of a crowd for punishment
To a black, its not being allowed to blend into a crowd and avoid punishment

Respect to a white is mutual understanding that encourages cooperation
To a black, its the ability to coerce cooperation through violence

Failed civic projects to a white are the fault of government stupidity, corruption and short sightedness
To a black, it's the fault of deliberate sabotage by some other ethnic group.

Justice to a white is being judged under impartial law
To a black, its being judged exempt from the law altogether

Random misfortune to whites is seen as bad luck
To blacks, its seen as an ongoing conspiracy to keep them down

Authority to a white is a public obligation
To a black, it is a personal toy

WHY this is? That's another discussion.

But the end result is they do not march in the same direction at the same speed on pretty much anything.

TFW you know going into the article it's gonna be more divisionary shit masked under the premise of talking about the thing people already inherently know of the establishment wanting whites and blacks retarded and at each others throats.

Random misfortune to whites is seen as bad luck
To blacks, its seen as an ongoing conspiracy
Gangstalker conspiracy theorists do the latter while being white and EXTREMELY racist.

Truly a mystery. Is there perhaps a group of people who have been stoking racial hatred for the past 20 years ?

America’s original sin: slavery
Wow. They just come out and say "original sin".

Anyway I can't find it at the moment but please picture that post on r/antiwork saying black and white people need to work together to overthrow the capitalists being deleted.

Are there any (non-homosexual) intellectuals
No.

Except me and the dude who does my oil change on the cheap.
I've read that the blacks African Americans "bBlacks" were better off, before politics funneled many -- if not most -- into that "gangsta" "culture" that emerged among them.
Rap ruined blacks like HRT pills ruined autistics.

He's not wrong in the general point. But he omits to mention that Identity Politics and racial division is pushed most heavily by the Left. And the fact that there was a swing towards Trump amongst African American men has some on the US Left flailing around for ways to recapture it. Even such as in this case trying to belatedly call for racial unity in the cause of stopping their opponents.

I realized this when I met my extremely racist relative who is obsessed with the confederacy. His best friend is a dreadhead black dude, there's pictures of this dude at parties with bigass confederate flags hanging all around. They're both in the same trade. I was further convinced when I had to interact with well off whites. There was absolutely nothing there besides having the same skin color. However this is all meaningless when the hate comes disproportionately from one side. It's not whites that are the problem and I'm not putting myself at risk, sorry!

Y-Chromosome bonding beats ethnic division, most of the time. Put two males who actually think like males in a situation and they'll immediately co-operate to deal with the situation. I've said this elsewhere but I've had Nigerian friends who I have far more in common with than most Middle Class White males in the industry I worked in. They're Christian, have good values, friendly and speak their mind. And I know if shit went down they'd be right by my side. Whereas many of the White male co-workers I've had (in my industry) would be on their knees in appeasement mode the moment trouble kicks off and would turn on me if I didn't join them there.

I know because you can say whatever you want on the Farms that it attracts people both saying true things that you're not allowed to say elsewhere, and those who just want to be actually racist. So statements like I'm about to make always attract some degree of angry downvotes, but Values > Skin Colour. Ability > Skin Colour. Racial politics are used habitually by Progressives to shut down opposition and I don't buy into it. If someone shares my values and is a capable person, they're alright by me.

Emerged? Or seeded? There was that old account of a dude in the music industry of a party he attended where a bunch of Jewish (he said) execs were laying out that they wanted to direct rap and hiphop into being all about gangster topics, promote a gangsta aesthetic, etc. And regardless of whether that party actually happened, it's certainly what was done. And prominent Black voices that condemned it (Bill Cosby was vocally ridiculing the gangsta trend and promoting more positive Black role-models) were removed or had the mics taken away. I watched the Iron Heart trailer recently. Ghetto aesthetics, gangsta rap soundtrack, story about her being part of a gang... The character is supposed to be a Tony Stark level genius. Maybe they could show this through some more distinctive markers. Maybe she listens to Beethoven, maybe she's reading classics or Fall of the Roman Empire or just anything that makes her individual? But no, to Hollywood, Black = Urban Ghetto. Unironically Tyler Perry presents a more positive role model in his Madea movies than Marvel's idea of an empowered Black woman.

You’re not truly terminally online until you’ve seen the photo of Obama’s mother naked and squatting on a bottle for the entertainment of a room full of black men.
Say what, now?

I'm so enraged and tired of jewish divide and conquer crap it's unreal.
Package National Socialism or whatever to Blacks and explain how Whites got their lives back from 12 years a slave in the Wiemar republic. It's the moment a golem stops being clay and serves the jew master and becomes flesh when they understand what was taken from all of us.

Why are we so deeply polarized in this country along racial lines?
Because of you, you write for the root which is black stormfront, you are part of the problem.

Do a flip immediately.
that many fail to realize that we, white and Black folks, have so much in common
You ask for unity and yet still do the uppercase thing, fucking anhero already.

It's not even correct. Blanket blaming the rich for racial divide is a smokescreen tactic that blames abstract, wide-net people groups instead of focusing on objective reality; that being that inner-city blacks act like they do because they're rewarded for it. They leech off of government programs that pay for everything and they can freely get away with crimes up to and including murder because prog DAs will shield them from accountability. All because a hundred years ago, America participated in the global slave trade that many other countries have also participated in. I am not trying to downplay slavery; it was real and it was horrible. However, two wrongs do not make a right.

You can even see it with the language in this article, how they give special reverence to "black" by treating it as a proper noun while "white" is left uncapitalized. Blacks don't want to unite with whites because they're rewarded for not doing so.
