Official Kiwi Farms 'Dubai Chocolate' Hate Thread - This thread can also serve as a hub for other Instagramslop food

It's fitting, considering Dubai's predilection for poop trucks. *yawn*

What a joke of a country. More 'jeets than there are native Emiratis.

I want to try some because I like chocolate and I like pistachios, but consoomers over consoom it, so it's hard to find (even at Trader Joe's) and sellers know they can charge stupid high prices for it. Figure I'll just wait for the trend to die, like all IG/TikTok trends die, and supply starts outpacing demand.

I assumed the "Dubai" part was just a name and that it wasn't actually connected to the UAE.

Holy fuck.... Indians, Pakistanis, and Bangladeshi come to 47.58%. Nearly HALF THE FUCKING POPULATION is some flavor of retarded jeet.

Is this like the trend of calling everything Wagyu?
IIRC "Wagyu" is a protected term and the real thing is very difficult to get outside of Japan. There's a lot of "Wagyu-style" garbage, though. But at least the real thing is inherently difficult to produce. Whereas pistachio butter filling in chocolate is something anyone can do.

I've tried it - it was expensive but less than 10 where I was and several of us split it to see what the hype was. Distinctly meh.

The idea has merit but it really felt like mid tier cream filling with some what crunchy bits and some pistachios and dye. All dipped in dove quality milk chocolate.

I would have vastly preferred a more nutty filling in a higher quality less sweet chocolate. Hell let me mix up some cashews pistachios and maybe honey not sugar and throw that in some good chocolate. I bet it'd be tastier.

And there's just easier and cheaper treats for the same quality. Definitely not worth $10 or $20 and the idea of mixing something that heavy into a milkshake or some other calorie and sugar bomb is stomach turning.

I got to eat one very cheap once. It was good but definitely wasn't worth it's high price.

Pistachio and chocolate combined with cherry makes spumoni, my favourite ice cream in all the world. I would imagine this has to be pretty tasty if it's two of the three, but if it costs way more then the average chocolate bar, forget it.

Yeah, I love pistachio myself, so maybe my take is a little biased.

It was, as I am assuming, a high-quality bar with what felt like real pistachio but with creamy texture and slight saltiness, all warped in smooth milk chocolate. It's a perfect blend for me, so I regretted not buying more when I had the chance.

Is it true that before the craze the dubai chocolate wasn't even remotely as expensive as it is now?

It is essentially just chocolate-coated baklava.
Personally disagree.

Baklava is basically an overtly sweet pastry with syrope and hard texture. The only thing that connects it with a chocolate bar is that they both have nuts in them, although in dubai's case it's a creamy paste with pistachio.

It's a similar type of dough and nuts, the only major differences are that the chocolate is less sweet (because it's not drowned in syrup) and that the dough is shredded instead of layered in sheets.

Pistachios are my favourite nut but I'm not eating that overly-processed slop.
Arabs love to eat sweets; Muhammad didn't tell them not to make themselves diabetic, so it is therefore permitted for them to become blind and crippled by sugar.
