This is one of those things I can't make my mind up about. I see the argument that price discrimination allows poorfags to still access the game. (To simplify, you sell to those people cheaper.) But back in the day, as soon as I heard about region locks I was seething and malding. And compared to the turn of the century, the Internet is now everywhere, so Russians could just buy games for you. This ought to have evened out prices, which does mean that poorer regions get fucked: for them it'd be a price increase. Not that the corpos care about that, they are just mad that they are losing potential profit on the higher prices in richer regions. I don't like that the "solution" is trying to artificially turn things back into a closed ecosystem.
