Video Game Archival Autism / TCRF / Jul / Sonic Retro / And More - Harvest Troon: Friends of Byuu-Near-al town

Alright, threw it up on gofile: https://gofile.io/d/Q6HffE

Also, dear Xkeeper, since I know you're reading this: yes, this includes the entire full articles (even the source code!) for Super Mario World and Super Mario 64, which you routinely get massively assblasted over people "stealing" from. I sincerely hope everyone can download this, share this, copy the ever-loving shit out of this, spread it far and wide, purely because fuck you.
I took a quick glance at his youtube channel, mostly gameplays (duh) but the latest two videos stand out, he made an hour long video seething about people using HIS wiki to make videos about cut content and then a 3h long watch party video of the previous one:

Cope harder lol

my point is that cc-by is a legal framework that does not have an understanding of technical controls. It is not a license violation to limit cc-by hosted content through technical controls but is through legal methods. Otherwise, a 5 minute downtime for a website is a license violation. or blocking a botnet. that's a limitation of cc-by.
I agree with much of your post and certainly the sentiment but...

It explicitly is a licence violation and CC does reference technical controls. Your example of "otherwise a 5 minute downtime for a website is a licence violation or blocking a botnet" isn't correct. The licence doesn't compel you to host content. But it explicitly references not implementing technical measures to prevent sharing. This was done precisely to prevent people acting against the intent of CC by, for example, adding DRM to the content so that you control the content or actively blocking the sharing or copying of the content (so long as attribution is preserved). There is more detail so that things like usernames and logins can still exist but I'm not going to repeat the whole thing. Check out my original post. I think you've assumed that the licence doesn't cover technical measures and that I'm simply someone who doesn't know what he's talking about and has just incorrectly extrapolated from their lay understanding. No, the licence does cover technical controls. And he is explicitly in his own words implementing these to prevent archiving specifically.

it activates once someone gets your content and it makes no mention of the cyerspace When xykreeper is doing is the fucking most retarded shit i've ever seen an admin to. it's not a cc-by violation, but that doesn't make it any less retarded. he needs to knock his shit off. sorry, it's a bit of semantics, but i hope this makes sense.
It makes sense. But I've made a supported case why it is. And content creators have a basis, if they choose to use it, to tell him to knock this crap off. Maybe he'd try and worm his way out of it but I'd leave him to do that, if he can.

I've noticed Pride Month is over, but the flags are still present on the TCRF logo. Knowing Xkeeper's stubborn nature, it's likely he's going to leave it up indefinitely to "own the chuds". Surely, this won't backfire and force him to ban more people from his site... right?
XKreeper wants the whole world to know he's superior in every way because he watches rimming, fisting and double-fisting online and calls it "love." Note that I said 'watch' and not 'he's into,' because we all know nobody is ever going to touch Workman's orifices and certainly not his axe wound for any reason ever, not even if he pays them handsomely. As far as amorphous, gelatinous blobs are concerned, Workman is as loveless as they go. How's that for pride, eh?

Okay, yeah, you're right. I'm just fucking retarded lmao thanks for being patient with me

Here's a snippet from the creative commons website (that you screenshotted and linked because i can't read lmao)

https://creativecommons.org/faq/#wh...asures-such-as-drm-on-my-cc-licensed-material

The use of any effective technical protection measures (such as digital rights management or“DRM”) by licensees to prevent others from exercising the licensed rights is prohibited.

Not all kinds of encryption or access limitations are prohibited by the licenses. For example, sending content via email and encrypting it with the recipient’s public key does not restrict use of the work by the recipient. Likewise, limiting recipients to a particular set of users (for example, by requiring a username and password to enter a site) does not restrict further use of the content by the recipients. In these examples, these things do not prevent the recipient from exercising all of the rights granted by the license, including the right to redistribute it further.

but yeah, there it is. It looks like it allows certain technological measures, but not others. like you can login gate your content from spam but you can't just block actual people from using your work because you don't like them lmao what xyxkreeper is doing is a clear license violation and adding that mad professor martinin bullshit is fucking retarded and malicious. he could argue that it's bandwidth, but if he was operating in good faith, he would have added an up to date archive to archive.org. there's just no good excuse.

Also, reading the "After licensing" section, I still think there's a solid case to keep the website up despite xkreeper seething. it seems like even if adolf fucking hiltler uses the license the only thing that people can do is ask for a removal of the name. seems counterintuitive to the damn license, but it's true.

If someone has made an adaptation of your CC-licensed work in a way that you no longer wish to be associated with, the adapter must comply with a request that your name be removed. (See Section 3(a)(3) of CC 4.0 legal codes.)

If you believe that someone is using your work in a way that is violating the license terms——for example, not giving correct credit, or using an NC work commercially, we have a guide on license enforcement here: What to do if Your CC-Licensed Work is Misused.

anyway, thanks for being patient and linking the license. sometimes im retarded lmao

Everybody is sometimes. But it's a rare person who admits it - that puts you in an elite group of people in my book. Besides, what you wrote is actually how most people see it. It takes an edge case like XKeeper to bring the more esoteric elements of CC licencing to the fore. They tightened up the wording in v4 of the licence and he uses v3, but the v4 changes are really only bring greater clarity to it, not to change intent.

lemmings committing suicide in mass sounds like a pretty tranny thing to me. too bad its a myth lmao
Myth or not, it did inspire an awesome game:

Fisting isn't love, you can't buy love for 300 bucks.
He’s a retarded raped man. So it doesn't matter if he has banned 9 billion humans from his site. All he is doing is ruining any chances for normies to support his failing website. He could screenshot these comments right now and call us losers because we touch grass. He doesn't care. He will only care if someone reported him to the proper authorities. He is done.

My god, just all these stupid fuckin' subtitles below these sections.

Yeah, almost everyone I've talked to says they were immediately turned off from the site because of the unnecessary subpages.
I don't like it but I understand it.

Honestly, the subpages are needed for a lot of articles. Otherwise you end up with an article a mile long loading hundreds of pictures. Look at Ocarina of Time, Team Fortress 2, or Mario 64. Imagine all the content in each game's subpages, except all smushed together on one page.

The stupid joke descriptions on the subpages, yeah, that shit can go.

You also have games with like a dozen leaked prototype builds such as Sonic 2 that result in an unfathomable amount of subpages. There's been upwards of 20 years of digging on those (the Simon Wai prototype was found in like, the late 90s) so they're bound to be very thoroughly organized and have long write-ups.

Dicksucking faggot sucks Workman's dick over keeping the faggot flag logos up past Fag Month:
That means a lot to me to see that would you keep them up after June ended.
Dude... it's just a bunch of multicolored flags. Who cares?

IANBW's post was moreso directed at the TCRF dicksucking fag who wrote "this meant a lot to me," rather than a jab at Shoresy. I suppose IANBW could edit for more clarity, but the jannies took away his ability to edit posts, and they won't explain why, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
