Can a female kiwi please enlighten me on the fascination with single young women and traveling to third world countries? I'm a big guy, and probably not worth any of the hassle if someone wanted to fuck with me, and I still have my doubts about traveling alone to the third world.

Meanwhile, I constantly hear about 19 y/o girls who just have to backpack trough central Asia or South America. Have you really already seen everything in Europe or North America?

Central Asia is perfectly fine in my research, though as a solo traveler I haven't been to any country there yet. Practically every CA country is fully secular (to the point many CA countries ban beards and hijab, arguably a better job than parts of Western Europe when it comes to curbing Islamism) and it's about on par with Russia in terms of crime rate and safety. Your real concern would be how every single country in CA have corrupt-as-fuck governments who probably want to milk tourists for all they're worth and the pretty crappy infrastructure due to said corruption. Think of it as traveling to early 2000s Eastern Europe. As for women, on paper CA countries should be fine but they aren't exactly the best for female solo travelers due to the aforementioned.

Afghanistan is the obvious exception... But hey, it works for Lord Miles... But guess what his gender is.

Now if you meant South Asia, aka all of the 'jeet countries including (unfortunately) Bhutan. Then yeah, total shithole to avoid aside from Bhutan I guess, lol. Even men should avoid it too like the fucking plague. Hell, Tibet is TECHNICALLY considered part of South Asia, so just fly to glorious CCP-land China and just go to Tibet and knock it off your 'South Asia' checklist lol

Because it's cheap. I saw a bunch of tourist in my country when our currecy lost value less so when it recovered some of it and the country got expensive. It's happening in Japan right now, people are traveling there more because the yen lost a good chunk of its value.

I'm fairly certain at this point that, on average, reddit is the lowest IQ place on the web. It's probably technically still Facebook, but no one cares about Facebook.

There is no point to making a reddit post that isn't either a simple picture with a caption or a technical question. If your post/comment attempts to articulate anything, I'm talking even widely held commonplace opinions, it will be so wildly misinterpreted that you'll be dumbstruck by the replies you receive.

At first you might assume that people replying to you are just flagrantly misinterpreting your posts on purpose in some sad attempt at getting an easy "gotcha"(nevermind that you weren't looking for an argument, everyone else on reddit is apparently). Eventually, after enough of this bizarre behaviour you come to realize that, while some people really are just misrepresenting what you said on purpose, most actually think they're making logical points.

So you're forced to conclude that either everyone on the website is mildly retarded, or that you're being gangstalked by a group intent on driving you nuts and wasting your time.

There's also the fact that, seemingly, half the userbase is ESL, and I'd say at least 70% of the ESL users are fucking indians. They're so easy to detect; it's not that they make grammatical errors, it's that they make grammatical errors that no native English speaker would ever make. It never fails that when I spot one of these poorly written comments/posts if I click on the users profile one of their most recent comments will be in some sub like r/indiangamers.

I don't want to hear the opinions of british or french people on american social issues, why would I ever want to hear the poorly articulated opinions of someone who is utterly divorced from not only american life, but the western world in general. I don't care that you've adopted western liberal values, you don't even understand what you're advocating for. Your opinion will never be insightful, you're not providing a different perspective, all you can do is parrot the prevailing opinion of the sub you're on in a poorer fashion than even low IQ native English speakers.

I'm not female but live directly in Central Asia, and can observe how women are treated here.

I recommend you stick to tour guides, and if you plan on travelling alone completely - go through populated areas with good lighting. Every cranny and weird alleyway is to be avoided, as almost every town and city has "that" district where all the crimes happen. Also do not respond to beggars and people asking for help with money or luggage on train stations - these are probably set-ups for a robbery (I'm not exadurating, I'd advise you heed those words if you travel through Eastern Europe as well).

Also, this applies mostly to my own country, but might be a rule of thumb in other regions of CA - be cautious in the more traditional part of the chosen country. It'll most likely be the southern part - mistreatment applies to both men and women there, because those parts are usually more Muslim and linguistically-disrciminitive (As in, you'd be mistreated for not knowing the language).

No idea about South America. Heard you can die there much easily.

Young women travelling alone is just what they want to do - without thinking about the implications, if they choose the wrong region.
