Yeah honestly I used to think Trump was the Republican Obama, but he feels like the Republican Bill Clinton.
Both are sleazy wealthy douchebags who took control of a political party that had suffered two humiliating defeats from a popular guy on the other side, and have done the most cartoonishly corrupt things in the White House while both being sex pests that use their charisma and goofy image to get away with it to their base.
My prediction is that it is going to take decades before Republicans take the stain of Trump off of them even if the base is against it, like how democrats still like to bring Bill Clinton around even with how politically compromising it is due to trying to get his stupid wife power from 2008-2016 to having him be on the campaign trail where he just insulted Arabs last year.
Though with Bill, his influence is going to die out given the aforementioned being a douchebag in 2024 and his failed endorsement of Andrew Cuomo if Mamdani wins November.
It is going to be interesting to see what the Republicans are going to be when Trump can no longer put his name on the ballot

Trump has been so intrinsically linked to the weird Pizzagate/QAnon "kill your local pedophile" crowd's identity that they refuse to see the reality that Trump is yet another sex-offending billionaire pedophile who befriended, benefited from and partied with Jeffrey Epstein. The Epstein files have ABSOLUTELY been destroyed by the Trump Administration, and that's no surprise. Elect a felon to office, get a criminal administration.
The discourse around last year's election really feels like the American right wing wanted to reward Trump for his criminality and help shield him from consequences. All the dumb fucking hicks in the south and in swing states sacrificed their own futures and social safety nets to save a billionaire reality TV show con artist. Now Trump gets to cover up his crimes and culpability while fucking over the country carte blanche.
It was so fucking funny seeing all the MAGAts unironically claim that Hillary Clinton somehow either snuck into Epstein's cell to kill him, or somehow ordered the guards to kill him despite the fact that her husband was the one who was friends with him, she hadn't had any access to the levers of power since 2015 and her husband hadn't been president for over 20 years at that point. You can feed these people any deranged conspiracy theory and they'll buy it wholesale as long as it makes Trump look good.

We already know they fucked up putting him in gen pop at first before moving him to the SHU. It was policy to put everyone in SHU before deciding placement, and you definitely wouldn't want to put a chomo or a notable figure in gen pop anyway. He was on suicide watch for a while then removed from it. Then we get into the fact that his cellmate was transferred despite his file saying he shouldn't be left alone.

Now, imagine having ICE agents come to your door that will refuse to identify themselves (just wearing ICE gear) and just claim that you are an illegal. You can't confirm its actually ICE and there's no due process to confirm ICE has the right guy.
