I feel like he'll probably manage to dredge up some last-minute troon-rights-based desperate grift that no sane person would ever think of, and hold on for another 3-6 months

but I'm also hoping he finally gets the boot in a timely manner and has to move in with Miriam, and the whole skeezy lot of them end up in a refrigerator box behind a Tim Horton's

The arc I want to see is him sleeping in the car for a few nights after he gets evicted. He will be awoken at 6am by the persistent knocking of the driver of a repo truck. His car is being towed. I really want to see video of Tranniv catching a genuine beating at the hands of someone who has the full legal right and/or authority to administer one, especially if he chimps out under the appropriate circumstances

Null puts together some cash for him to stay in a motel, and the Gunt & Co. show up at his door.

Later police video reveals him rambling to the cops about a parallel universe where menarchic girls on the ferry are constantly needing help with their tampons. The cops deadass don't know how to respond to this.

SFU is a commuter school. Most people don't live there. There's no 'right' or expectation that one live on campus. Lots of full-time students apply and don't get student housing.

I doubt he's actually at SFU. SFU is pretty competitive these days. He's also mentioned Douglas and Langara. Douglas is building a single student housing unit; Langara has no on-campus option.

Rent in the lower mainland is insane. He has no option to purchase a new unit; He was already getting hosed on interest rates and using a private broker because he doesn't qualify for a mortgage anymore. Plus the recent foreclosure.

It's also very hard to evict someone in BC, which makes people cautious about taking renters who seem nuts.

His realistic option is that he's going to move in with mommy.

There are reports that the ban has expired. But even if he's banned, he'd ignore it. It's hard to get rid of people, harder if they aren't tenants. He'll keep trying to stay there until they force her out of the strata (which is also difficult and costly). Something like Strata Plan v. Jordison. The standard is that the owner must have "repudiated the cooperative foundation of strata living." I'm pretty sure Miriam's strata has already been considering this, may be in the works.
 
The only thing that may work in their favor for keeping Jonny out is that it is strictly a 55+ strata. They might actually be able to enforce that provision.
There is provision for the adult children of qualified residents (over 55) to live with them, especially if they are a caregiver. HOPA The strata can look at their bylaws but tighter restrictions may be difficult to implement as Canada is currently expanding exemptions for over 55 communities. I’m guessing he will move in with mummy and all hell will break loose.


 
Anecdotally, they're way over the Jordison standard. Ms. Jordison and her son were very noisy, and rude to other strata owners in the parking lot. They made a lot, a lot of banging in the unit, fought, slammed doors, and when confronted with people unhappy about this, flipped them off or called them a 'fat cow.'

The Civil Resolution Tribunal can issue an order that a strata owner comply with the by-laws, but cannot force sale. Forcing sale must be pursued at the Supreme Court of BC level.

Seeking a stop-doing-that order at the CRT level is a necessary step to the eventual forced sale. Does anyone know if this has happened yet?

Let's look at what qualified as grounds for forced sale in BC recently:
The Owners, Strata Plan NWS3075 v Stevens, 2018 BCSC 1784: Ms. Stevens inherited a unit in a 55+ building after her mother died. Ms. Stevens is under 55. She has listed the unit for sale. The Strata wants an order for forced sale.
Resolution: Denied, extreme remedy of forced sale not warranted in this case.

The Owners, Strata Plan NW 1245 v Linden, 2017 BCSC 852: Barry and Ron Linden disrupted their strata by "bullying and harassing other residents "making derogatory and often vulgar comments about residents or giving them intimidating looks; and continually disturbing other residents late at night by yelling, banging, slamming doors, playing loud music, singing loudly, screaming, swearing, allowing their dog to bark incessantly, and making other loud noises." The Lindens did not appear but sent a letter explaining their position.
Resolution: Granted.

The Owners, Strata Plan VR 390 v. Harvey, 2013 BCSC 2293: The owners engaged in a series of renovations on property they did not own (shared strata property) The refused to desist even after significant penalties and injunctions.

Resolution: Injunction granted, forced sale denied. The renovations having ended, this was viewed as a time-delimited problem. "
[154] However, all the misconduct related to renovation work in the Townhouse which has been completed, with the possible exception of the bamboo trimming. The opportunity for friction between the SC and the TR is now significantly diminished. The Townhouse is a separate unit, although it is connected to common property. There is no evidence of the TR engaging in ongoing intolerable behaviour like creating unacceptable loud and unnecessary noise as in Jordison November 2013. The need for future interaction between the TR and Council should be limited to items such as maintenance and repair."


Conclusion: Yaniv's behaviour falls well within the boundaries of what warrants forced sale in BC. Crucial to the Strata's success will be taking all the necessary steps before seeking forced sale, and keeping a record that the offending behaviour continues after prior remedies. This is one of the rare cases where the Strata may not only rid themselves of Yaniv, but also recoup their costs (which will be significant) when the condo is sold.
 
You're absolutely correct that there is systemic corruption, but consider how many pedophiles, rapists, whatever have walked because well intentioned vigilantes gummed shit up. Have you retained a lawyer to investigate this corruption, because when you type out shit that makes it sound like you're treating this like a Final Fantasy game, you're not going to end up helping Donald.
There are plenty of people who dream of being Chris Hansen, because pedos like Tranniv are the worst people on Earth and the thought of being a "superhero" catching them gives them a Reddit justice boner. But in reality, private citizens who are not conscripted by law enforcement and therefore told what they can and cannot do tend to just muck up investigations and get the pedos and rapists off on a technicality.

The general public is just so media-brained that I've heard many people unironically claim that TCAP was yanked off the air because it discovered a grand pedo conspiracy, not because they royally fucked up a DA's ongoing and careful investigation for ratings, leading to the pedo doming himself with a 9mm live on camera and NBC getting sued.

The Canadian justice system is a joke. You won't fix its problems by being a so-called vigilante. Don't do it. It'll give Tranniv ammo.
