I know Dad shouldn't be given too much leeway for his defense of Anisa and Ian. But I can't necessarily blame him either considering the countless amounts of people that defended Ian when he did the apology video or the Anisa stuff.

This, and for a long time Ian and Anisa hid behind people like Ethan and Hila, and the Cold Ones guys and other YouTubers, for respectability.
I think a lot of people gave them the benefit of the doubt because of that, thinking "Sure, there is no good communication and it seems like no one is promoting the event, but H3H3 just had Ian and Anus on his podcast and he donated money, so he still believes in it. Ian is friends with Hila and the Cold Ones guys and they're all succesful business owners, so surely he knows how to run an event and he has support."
I'm not saying it's smart, but when you're not aware of just how shitty Ian and Anisa are, it's easy to fall for it. And to be honest, I don't think most people knew just how dumb and incompetent they were until the FroggyFresh drama started. I sure didn't, I just thought they were assholes, not that they were fully capable of obliterating their own event through sheer stupidity and ego.
