what I've seen their idea is to have 4 modes, one being BR (and the other probably tarkov, so basically what delta force is doing), which will be free. the other two (can't remember if that included a campaign) were paywalled.

I really want to work as a videogame dev, because that's probably the dumbest shit I ever heard, assuming there's a fuckhuge demographic of 100 million players that just sit and wait for a battlefield battle royale - and not play fortnite, tarkov or any of the other battle royale's I can't even remember.

DICE had "the pride of having started Battlefield and owned that IP," but now the studio was just "supporting it for American leadership," said one person who worked there. the biggest problem with EA at least, is that they think this game is going to do massive numbers on the level of like CoD,Fortnite,or Apex, I almost wish I could go back in time, shoot the Fortnite Developers in like 2017 then go back to the present day, these fucking executives are a bunch of spoiled cunts who are delusional enough to believe every single game they release needs to be the biggest thing ever auidence wise, their like fucking steamcharts zoomers but even worse because they actually have influence on how games are developed, they are in for a rude awakening, the next BF will be successful, at least intially, but thinking the next BF is capable of breaking 20k players like a month after release is retarded as im typing this post BF2042 currently has 6k people playing on steam plus however many on Console, theres no reason to think every game needs mass appeal on a top 5 game level

If case you haven't realized all modern ip holders either want to be the next fortnite or avengers or nothing at all. If they can't have every possible last dollar then it's not worth doing anything.

im well aware but still its a serious problem when they stop even trying to release video games because they believe it wont do the same numbers as pre-existing multiplayer games on the market

what I mean is there will always be a "fortnite", the big FOTM game. before fortnite it was dota, wow, quake, warcraft/c&c, etc.

it didn't stop the industry crapping out clones constantly to get a slice of the cake.
that's what I mean, if it wasn't fortnite EA would be retarded enough to chase whatever's popular in a different timeline. you'll never get "you know what, maybe we should do our own thing and try to make the best game we possible can".

in short, EA is a pathetic trendchaser (like most of the AAA industry).
 
Are there any other games like Battlefield 2 ? So far i only like Battlefron 2 (2005) (eg you fight agains bots in big pve map)
I tried Easy Red 2 (not for me), Ravenfield (felt too unfinished and slow updates), Angels Fall First (wasnt for me and ui was too much)

I used to really love Planetside 2 but they fucking killed it with a combination of retarded decisions over its entire lifetime and a final nail in the coffin with adding Oshur to the game. Battlebit was promising for awhile but they floundered it. Battlefront 2 """"((((EA))))"""" was fun but they pulled the Pride and Accomplishment™ bullshit which killed that off. Tried 2042, its shit.

I just want a fun Battlefield style game that doesn't suck or die within 2 years. The formula is gold and they have a template on what makes it good but they continue fucking it up, its astonishing.

I genuinely think there is a ton of potential in a gang wars/cartel wars (latter, you can go all the way up to helicopters/civilian aircraft and armored personnel carriers; that’s what “narco tanks” really are) game. Maybe not in the traditional Battlefield formula (I think more how Chivalry 2 has plots to its linear missions), but it’s still something DICE could consider. Reboot Hardline around something better than cops and robbers (blegh).

go with delta force for now, enjoy while it lasts, i was going to mention battlebit but that shit's FOTM period is beyond buried.
