The issue with TAL and his crusade against the forum (Hi faggot, get mad. Get so mad it drives you mad.) Is that it’s now Whataboutisms.

I can understand some arguments about worries about expression censorship. However, he took some offense at Josh (I think, in regards to, Kirsche or Pippa) and now because Josh is not 100% in line* with his views he has declared the fatwa. It’s emotional argument because Josh and much of the forum is pretty much in agreement that the shit is creepy at best.

* No one will ever 100% share your views. If they do they are either insane or you beat them into it like a battered housewife.

I dont and im living proof. Ive been a weaboo since I was 11 years old and despite me always being in anime communities ive always despised their rhetoric. Not once, not for a single moment have I found it morally okay to jerk off to lolicon though I also am a Christian so maybe that also plays into my stubbornness o algo.

Pragmata threads were a thing on 4chan for a while, and they were infamous for having posters that would post real children and actual CP. I feel like a huge issue in general in a lot of people was they grew up on 4chan and think they are still teenagers posting on /v/ or /tv/. @Chudborean did the write up on Synthetic Man and I think that guys worst problem is that he treats the Internet like it’s 2015 /v/ along with oversharing.

They excuse a lot of bad behavior because they assume it’s jokes and not people testing the waters. I don’t think you have to constantly police your community and take a magnifying glass to every fucking member, but you shouldn’t do what DSP or Synthetic Man did and ignore warnings until outside pressure forces them to act.

TAL is a product of growing up browsing 4chan.
 
btw I just remembered there was an artist named Russell(?) who got busted because he traced child porn for his doujins. if you're into lolicon you can't even know for certain if what you're looking at is not literally child porn being drawn over.

A lot of these artists started basically hoarding CP after japan banned it in 2014. And started trading/selling it to eachother because japs still have very lax laws around this type of thing.

Yeah. Nobuhiro Watsuki was a big one that still had a ton. Wrote Rurouni Kenshin. In the end he only paid 1900 USD as a fine. Pathetic

He got the fine, iirc, because his collection was pre-ban. It was still illegal to own, but the argument was that the wording of the law was unclear.

That’s the mindfuck about all of this. A lot of countries didn’t really make it illegal until the 80’s because the distribution of film for such purposes was unthought of. The US only started cracking down hard during the Reagan years. The Religious right actually got that win.
