I thought about that too. However, it wouldn't be beyond Phil to be looking at his suitcase at the airport, notice a scratch or a loose thread, and think "I'd better get new luggage for that eventual trip to Japan" while knowing it's never going to happen.

I don't remember ever seeing Phil's front door from the outside so I was skeptical if this picture was real at first, but I followed up on the post below and found the following listings on Zillow.

In the listings I got an image of the front doors of 2 units. Not all units seem to have the door in an angled wall, but the door in Doody's picture and the second unit do. If I remember correctly from the house tours, Phil has it at an angle as well. All units seem to have the glass side panel in the door frame, just like the picture. The wooden paneling in the picture is in the same style as all the other units, all ranging in different shades of light colors. The steps to the door seem to be in different styles too, the picture has rounded edges and the 2 units in the listing have them straight but one is angled because of the door, all seem to be made from the same materials.

I'd agree that this was just him trying to "own" the detractors and it being a known trip if it didn't fly in the face of his mature adult business owner persona. He knows how much a week away from his channel can hurt viewer count, and he knows a proper streamer lets people know when they'll be gone for an extended period so they know when to tune back in during their last stream before they leave. The fact that he didn't say anything at all makes me lean toward something unexpected having happened as opposed to it being 100% planned.

You can fly without RealID, you are just subject to extra screening. I don't know how long they'll be doing that, but the requirement doesn't mean they're going to turn people away at the airport - not yet anyway.
