A gaming collective(?) publishes a blog on how "Gamers and game developers are a perfect constituency for the socialist project". On the blog itself, pretty long winded rant about how capitalism is bad and how gaming should embrace socialism because of backward compatibility. On the Ghazi-front, they bitch about how racism is either the best way to implement socialism/only thing holding socialism back because whites hate non-whites.

I have to confess I've never understood the logic behind why so many anti-gg types back socialism/communism.

Video games are a largely commercial business produced for the purpose of entertaining the masses.

Yet another "opiate of the Masses", to quote Marx, only instead of prayer and churches, it's button mashing, but same principle holds, it's meant to provide a distraction from the daily lives of the capitalist classes while still serving to benefit the capitalists themselves by turning their producers a profit.

So why anyone thinks an industry born, bred, and refined in a capitalist society and essentially built for a capitalist purpose would be a good breeding ground for scoialism/communism will forever astound me.

Because they fail so badly at selling anything on its own merits that if they can't suck dick to get good reviews of it from fake "journalists," they fantasize that they could have the government force you to buy their worthless shit.

It fundamentally enrages them that people have the choice of what products they buy.

In general, people who advocate for communism rarely are actually interested in anything resembling "equality." Rather, they know that in such systems some bureaucrats are needed to direct things and allocate resources and they fantasize about themselves being in those roles while other people can be factory workers or farmers.

These high-profile "nerds" who have been exposed as sexual predators since 2016:

Matt Hickey - Matt is now facing 3 rape charges from women who allege that Matt sexually assaulted them. Matt has also been sued by an attorney general for running a fake porn agency scam. He set up a fake amateur porn organization and then tricked women into having sex with him, who thought they were auditioning for a porn video.

Devin Faraci - stepped down as editor in chief of Birth.Movies.Death in October of last year, after several women came forward to accuse him of sexually assaulting them.

Robert Marmolejo - involved with a volunteer tech organization, sexually harassed over 20 women.

This is clear evidence that these men and anyone around them who ignored the warnings are still very much an embodiment of the misogyny we must fight.

It is also worth considering that this did not occur in a vacuum, there were people who knew of what these men were doing and silently condoned their actions.

Matt Hickey and Devin Faraci were two notable players in this "ensuing coverage" and are part of the increasingly disproportionate segment of anti-GamerGate journalists who are also sexual predators.

Moving on, the "volunteer tech organization" Robert Marmolejo was involved with is Crash Override Network.

Robert Marmolejo was quietly dismissed from CON after the incident, but nobody affiliated with Crash Override thought to mention that yes, this guy had worked with Crash Override and yes, he had direct access to Crash Override clients' contact info, chat logs, and any other information the naive saps had been foolish enough to entrust them with up to that point.

Weird how Izzy never thought to mention how Robert found those 20 women, despite having chatted with him in Crash Override. No "change your emails, ladies, this creep has anything you sent to Crash Override"?

Also weird how /r/GamerGhazi never thought to mention this goony beardman in tech harassing over 20 women, despite normally being into this like flies on shit.

Well, to be fair, I'd sincerely hope that most of the people who were on KIA back in 2014 have grown up and moved on. People who still care about Gamergate in 2017 are manchildren.

When in reality, the opposite is true. They're the useful idiots, promoting a cause only to preserve their own hides, but the capitalists who really run the show are just waiting to reenact the night of the long knives on these tools.

The ground troops do buy the premise of communism however. And then they're the first ones to be purged after they've served their purpose, as happened in the USSR.
But then life isn't exactly perfect for those clever guys at the top. Sure they enjoy a nice capitalistic lifestyle, but they always risk being disposed of even if they don't really slip up.
So I know for a fact that here and in any other communist state back in the day, being an inner party member not only required you to have connections to rise to the top as well as enough sociopathy to be able to sell out your own family and best friends, but it also required you a certain sense of non-paranoia about the whole ready-to-be-disposed-of thing. I've seen several wannabe Machiavellian smartasses on the internet dreaming of a North Korean style dictatorship just for those purposes, but the truth is that even if they somehow got to that luxurious inner party position they wouldn't possibly last long in it.

According to these people, Anita Sarkeesian might have been a horribly wrong hack who even they admit was talking out her ass most of the time, but because she pandered to their pet topics, she's a good ally.

The logic gets more tortured as I read on. Some argue "it's bad to insert your opinion on interpretation as fact", but then a few posts down they proceed to do just that.

And some antifa idiots think GamerGate gave rise to the people they are beating with bike locks and other dangerous objects because they think words are so bad they can kill, and so they must brutalize people and violate their civil rights because they are hurting "fascists".
