He grew up doing business with the toughest motherfuckers New York could throw at him. Some kindergarten level insult-throwing retards who never matured past the mental age of 12 are nothing by comparison.
I don't think the mean words are what was being referred to. The blatant character assassinations with potentially disastrous lawsuit after lawsuit from the private sector were rough, but people don't target the target alone anymore, they go after friends and family. Melania's social circle has tanked hard since Trump became president, his family suffers along with him, and that hurts more than them targeting you. If his wife was a weaker woman, a messy divorce and subsequent backstabbing from your own wife turning on you to keep her "friends" would be devastating.
Then after 2020 and his return to civilian life, the pressure went up to 11 with the felony trials, forced sale of his property for governmental fuckery, further character assassinations and attacks on his legacy, plus the disbarment from doing business in the area you've done it for decades, that would be such a low that quite a lot of people would tap out. Then when he continued to persevere in face of all this bullshit, the assassination attempts started rolling in. Arguably these failed attempts and felony convictions probably galvanized him to the Punished Trump arc, since there was clearly no backing out now, so all he could do was fight to the death, but fighting the leviathan that is government seems way harsher than dealing with the mob as it reaches its twilight years. I'd almost argue the mob is more reasonable and rational than the government, you know what they want and how far they're able to safely go, the government can take you for a decades long ride and then walk away like nothing happened just because you pissed off the wrong bureaucrat 20 years ago and they've been sharpening the knife waiting for their chance.
I don't get it. If this is the level of professionalism we expect from a first-world country, we are doomed. Please rationalize to me the point of this sort of posting. Also rationalize to me why Trump backtracking to the Epstein files is a good thing despite his assurance of government corruption being exposed to the wild. If not, you're just as bad as me with Hillary Clinton.
Polite politics is how we got into this shitshow in the first place. Everyone skirting around the problem and using veiled language, then the Left making all their pet problems taboo to go against because that's mean, and you're definitely going against them with the worst faith reason possible.

... like the other various cover ups that would be fully declassified and revealed to the American public as soon as (and not a second before) the last person implicated in any crime is dead.
When has that ever happened? Name one.

I mean, that's the perception they want you to have but it doesn't happen in the real world. There's probably still a box somewhere with info on the Lincoln assassination that we've never been told.

"Pam Bondi should not have run her mouth about 'Epstein files on her desk' just to look good for the camera. This is now a minor shitshow and an entirely unforced error."
People forget that her very next line in that clip was her saying "No" in response to the interviewer asking if there was anything in the files on her desk that would elicit an "Oh, my gosh" response.
It's like she immediately realized she'd said something she couldn't back up and tried to backpedal on it, but once you drop a line like that, it sticks to you like superglue.

Fun likely fact: If Trump had been killed that day, Silver Alert would likely not have dropped out in spite of the disastrous debate the month before. He'd probably have won.
Dude, if Trump got killed then it would have been a wrap. Country over. Put up the chairs, sweep up the floors, turn off the lights, and shutter the windows.

Do you really think 40-45% of the country would buy it that a random kid got within 100 yards of Trump with a clear shot on him and videos of people telling law enforcement that he was there and armed? Would anyone buy a "lone gunman" story? How about 20% of the country? All you need is 10% of the population to rebel and mount an insurgency for it to succeed, and that's something the US government has known since the Kennedy administration.

Trump losing the election or simply dying of a heart attack would be fine in comparison. I do not think many people appreciate how fucking lucky the world is that the kid missed. I believe it was some sort of divine intervention because that was an easy shot, but he still missed, and had he not missed we would all be in the midst of a global war over control of the US.

This cannot be overstated, it was that close.

That would absolutely not fly. That's comically unconstitutional. The President cannot recess Congress unilaterally for an arbitrary period of time for the express reason of making unconfirmed appointments. That's absurd.
>the constitution is unconstitutional
The Founders were definitely aware of this interaction between these the recess appointment clause and the conditions under which a President can force Congress into recess. That's why they put them right next to each other in the Constitution.

Have you even read the Constitution?
I'm genuinely curious, what part of this isn't getting through?

The last two in particular are astonishingly low IQ. I don’t like glibly assuming my enemies are just retarded violent animals, but what else do you call people who tag shit like “go home” to literal immigration enforcement or seem entirely unaware that an actual fascist state would have summarily executed them for tagging “kill the president”?
When the first violent protests broke out in LA, I was discussing the happenings with someone as we watched the footage and we likened the behavior to that of feral animals with no sort of impulse control. As much as one might hate to say that about human beings, their response to something they hate is strong, violent, and impulsive with animal-like lack of thought behind those actions. Even more horrifying is that this behavior is egged on and encouraged by LA Mayor Bass and plenty of others.

Seriously though, my entire life growing up to now, I've never heard a good thing regarding Rosie O'Donnell. Not in media, not in news, not from anybody. I think she was even in a movie once? But yea, it's like nobody wants this bitch around, ever.
I still recall being shocked and horrified she was in the running to take over for Bob Barker as host of The Price Is Right because all she had going for her at the time was being a lesbian. Today, that would probably be enough to get her the spot even if it meant the show was run into the ground and no longer airing.

Which is why you always have to pay in cash, the Feds have a genuine interest in investigating the tax fraud and money laundering implications that come with an active cash-only industry. They bust illegal gambling houses / clubs in my area every month, I imagine it's a big headache from headshops as well.
This is why the IRS conducting an examination (aka an audit) on their federal tax returns would be a good idea to ensure the company is complying with the restrictions of Internal Revenue Code §280E and paying all duly-owed taxes. A simultaneous I-9 Audit and/or labor law investigation would be icing on the cake if they're lax with their record keeping requirements and employment practices under those parts of the law.

At a previous job, someone came to the office to speak with my boss at the time. He made it immediately clear he worked at a pot shop and needed reliable accounting services because he wanted to stay as above board as possible. He went on to say that many in the industry aren't fully complying with the law which didn't surprise me. The cash-only nature of the industry combined with banks' refusal to provide services because of the federal illegality makes it easier for cash transactions to be manipulated. TL; DR - Boss turned him down for reasons, but the guy appreciated the candor and honesty behind the reasons why. Still, it was eye-opening to hear that the same industry wanting to operate legally at the state level and be seen as legitimate was still sketchy as fuck because the competition and other factors making it a challenge to be profitable have the industry acting outside the law to cut what corners they can cut with hopes they won't get caught.

The states meanwhile are collecting taxes off of these businesses. Eventually this is gonna come to a head as the fed is gonna want those billions in taxes. I think the federal government would be a lot more reasonable about the taxes. They need to be high but not so high it drives people to go back to black market.

Another problem is that the states touted pot-related taxes as the cure to many problems. Bad roads? The pot taxes will help fix them! Underfunded public schools? Pot tax can fill in the gaps! Revenues and the ensuing tax money didn't meet the ambitious projections, which has led to many of the issues we see now and the black market becoming more appealing as the novelty of buying legal pot wanes. So, I can understand why the feds want to make sure they get their piece of the pie and why the states are struggling to find that balance in tax rates that gives them their own share of the pie without making the industry collapse on itself.

People legit thought that legalizing pot would mean brown people stop getting arrested for slinging dope, when it actually just means consolidation of the cannabis business into large, international corporations, and the brown people just find other crimes to commit.
In some of the urban areas with legal pot, the local government has even gone as far as to require a requisite number of licenses be issued to black people as a form of reparations for the black people who previously ran afoul of pot-related drug laws. Unfortunately, too many of these license recipients lack the business savvy to be successful. Also the proliferation of pot shops in the inner city has done nothing to dispel the stereotypes that black people like selling and using pot on the regular.

At minimum, the 2024 election would have been a contentious shitshow. At worst, we'd have all sorts of factions clamoring for control over the US, likely with varying degrees of political violence that would make the Summer of Love look like grannies getting together for afternoon tea.
Edited for spelling.

To be fair, the feds don't have to worry about missing taxes from black markets because they can flat tax the entire USD economy with the money printer.

The fun thing about that is yes, they can defer to state laws, but they are under no obligation to do so. The feds could choose -- arbitrarily and at any time -- to start enforcing existing federal laws that put marijuana on the scheduled drugs list, and break down every door of every "legal" dispensary and every marijuana farm in the country in one fell swoop, seize probably billions of dollars in weed and cash (banks are notoriously nervous about doing business with technically-illegal businesses), and collapse the budgets of every state that depended on the tax income from weed sales to balance the books.

C'mon feds, you could do the funniest thing ever right now. It's not like a bunch of lazy fuckin' stoners would get up and actually do anything about it. :story:
"I was gonna Rebel against the Feds..but then I got High"

Now if we can only bring back Nigger the same way. People said that shit all the time too a hundred years ago, and it wasn't even really a pejorative. It was just slang for Negro. The emphasis people put on words and how they are made taboo is a really fascinating subject when you get right down too.

sorry this is not true. I was a child in the 80s growing up in diversityland and until gangsta rap got started I heard the word spoken one time, and it was so taboo it was burned into my memory.

Cracks are forming in the liberal establishment. Longtime JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon is an establishment pillar. Neoliberalism is losing him:

Dimon panned New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani as “more a Marxist than a socialist” and criticized Democrats who he says spend too much time on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Dimon has supported DEI in the past. But enough is enough.

Dimon … criticized Democrats over their push for DEI policies, saying they are “idiots” and “overdid” it at an event hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

“I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they’re idiots,” he said.

“I always say they have big hearts and little brains,” Dimon added. “They do not understand how the real world works. Almost every single policy rolled out failed.”

The next revelation for Dimon on his return to human normality will be that their brains can’t possibly be that little, and consequently their hearts can’t be that big.

It's shocking just how poorly the DNC is being run currently.
It's been half a year since Trump was sworn in, and they're nowhere closer to having a coherent message, much less a party leader, than they were immediately post-election.
I feel like the Peter Principle has finally come home to roost, where the Democrat party has promoted so many incompetent dipshits in the name of diversity that they have no one with any kind of political tact to keep them focused.
